Reflection
Last night I managed to fall asleep half an hour after midnight and even though I only got 6.5 hours, I felt a little bit better.
Tonight at the lesson I was very unfocused and will have to see the recording. There was a lot of activity in the chat and a couple of other participants that said that they thought of quitting. But I have now decided not to quit. I finally started with the worksheets, and even though they take hours every evening, I will keep going.
Today I booked a BodyBalance class at the gym for Friday lunch with one of my favourite instructors. The employees have a day off and it will be quiet, but I don't know if I will be able to go at lunchtime in the future. At least it's a start. Hold me to it!
Tonight I ghosted my friend who I help getting healthier. He sent me a message and probably wanted to chat, but I have to focus on myself. I did tell him before that I'm busy and don't sleep enough, but he keeps sending me messages expecting a reply. He is retired and have all the time in the world. I can send a short reply in the morning.
💡 Personal Insight
Annika, look at what you did today: you decided not to quit, you finally opened the worksheets even though they take hours, you booked Friday's class, and you protected your own focus instead of rescuing someone else. That last one matters more than you know, because you are built to pour into others and you've spent a lifetime answering everyone's messages first. The thing about you is that your energy is precious and borrowed, not endless, so guarding it isn't selfish, it's survival. The grief about what you didn't know earlier is real, but notice the quiet trend underneath it: your sleep is improving, your scores are climbing, you are slowly coming back to yourself. You don't have to catch up on everything tonight. You only have to keep the one promise you made about Friday.
→ Today
- Rest now. The worksheets will wait.
- One short reply in the morning, nothing more.
- You already chose not to quit. That counts.
