After Day 3
I completed day 3 of the ADHD Focus Reset
Yes! I listened to Jim’s talk and then immediately left for my bodywork studio. I used the subway commute as the body doubling time. So many texts and emails got done for planning client sessions, communicating with the contractor renovating my office, following up on healthcare and health insurance issues of my own,, etc. Productive, focused, satisfying.
Watched the video tonight after greatly losing my focus at the end of a big client workday. Necessary communications turned into lots of undisciplined scrolling and dopamine slurping. I even watched myself let it happen. Got home, tired and more aware of the effects of scrolling wildly. Then came to thus site for the video and sharing with you. .
My mood today:
Varied widely from 6 to 10. Started off the day exhausted, and didn’t have time to take a walk, exercise or shower. Really enjoyed my client time and tasks… until I lost it afterward. That is a common habit after a day of even one client session. I don’t want to indulge in scrolling like that.
My focus score today: 3-10
Reflection on body doubling:
Worked well, even though I did the effort-focusing part on the subway commute.
I’ve never formally done body doubling before. How do you stage this when you’re not in a cohort here? Would some of you like to say how you put it together?
Optional reflection/win:
Maximum availability and joy for clients and tasks. And even observed the tougher moments with some good success
