Classroom Discounts
If I create a course/product in my community, am I able to also create a discount code? I'm jumping on as a guest speaker and am thinking of offering a discount code to their audience for a paid product.

@Arowosola Wuraola Hello, thanks for your response. I'm asking if I can do discount codes on a course in the community, not if I can run ads to the plans or about page. Thanks though!

@David Iya Yeah, I think I'll just create a page inside my Library of Resources and link it back to my Kit account. At least for now. Thanks!
Treat this like a business, not a hobby
If your goal is to built your Skool community into something that could potentially bring you in enough money to retire your spouse or parents, buy you a house, stay home with your family (or anything else), then you need to be treating it like a legit business. ๐Ÿ“‹ Build a plan (or as much of one as you can while you're experimenting with what works and what doesn't) ๐Ÿ“‹ KEEP EVERY SINGLE RECEIPT - if you're ever audited, you need to back up every expense that you say was business-related. If not? HELLO penalties! And the gov't is NOT gentle... oh, and upload the receipts to your accounting software if you're using one. It's a cloud backup that is worth the two minutes to upload! ๐Ÿ“‹ Track your numbers! You should know exactly how much you're spending vs bringing in - not to scare you or upset you at the beginning of your journey, but so that you can see any negative or positive patterns that might be coming up and adjust (or perhaps celebrate because you hit a money goal you didn't think you were close too yet). I don't personally care if you're on the Hobby plan or the full plan or not. I'm on the Hobby plan, but I know where I want my community to go, so I'm treating it like it's *not* a hobby. This is my business (one part anyway). What do you think has been your biggest expense so far in business??

@Joseph Moses.G because the back-end of a person's business is typically not considered s3xy or anything to get excited about. However... I obviously disagree because the amount of growth possible when you know that where you're wasting money and can invest it somewhere else to bring in more leads or get a nicer website etc... its - your growth is only limited by how you understand your numbers. And my messaging probably isn't as effective as it could be to get my excitement across lol

@Tameera Corporal these topics aren't "sexy" so they're typically forgotten about. They are!
Ad Conversion
Anyone else struggling (at least at the beginning) with conversion from Ads? Iโ€™ve been running Instagram Ads now for about a week and have seen a few thousand views, a 1500 link clicks to the about page on my community and no conversions at all (even with a 7 day free trial & Iโ€™ve reduced the price of membership to well below what I think it should be). Appreciate social proof is a thing that comes into play but at this point it feels like throwing money into the void. Anyone overcome this sort of thing?

I've definitely been there. I don't really have anything to offer except that which was passed along to me; make sure your program is validated first. I was advised to promote my group organically first to make sure it's wanted from my audience before putting my (limited) funds behind it. So, talking about it on my socials, maybe reaching out to people I know are my ideal audience to ask if they'd beta it for a reduced price. If they say no, say that's perfectly okay but ask why not (so that you can get feedback on it). It even ask your someone in your audience what they get from your about page. Hope this helps!!
๐Ÿšฆ Skool Traffic Challenge Wrap Up โ€” From Zero to 70 Members (and a Whole Lotta Growth)
When I started this challenge, I had nothing. No audience, no traffic, no clue what I was doing, just an idea and a stubborn little spark. Fast forward to now? โœจ 70 amazing women inside The U Crew ๐Ÿ’ฐ Ads converting at just $1.99 per member ๐Ÿ‘€ Discovery rank went from 545 โ†’ 171 ๐Ÿ”ฅ 100% cold traffic, no list, no followers, just doing the damn thing This has been a massive shift for me. My backgroundโ€™s in weddings and website design, but now Iโ€™m building a space for midlife women and carers (like me) who are tired of always holding it all together, and just need somewhere real, kind and calm to land. This challenge forced me to stop planning and perfecting and actually start. Now The U Crew is live, growing, and officially a paid community ($9/month) thatโ€™s already changing lives...including mine. ๐Ÿ’› Huge shoutout to @Evelyn Weiss and this challenge and to my wonderful allies whoโ€™ve kept me sane and laughing through it all. Next goal: see how far we can grow now that my community is paid. If youโ€™ve been sitting on an idea, this is your nudge, stop overthinking it and just go. You donโ€™t need an audience. You just need to begin. โ˜•๏ธ Progress beats perfection every damn time.

First sale in my community
I launched my community a week ago. It's free to join and I've got 30 members so far. Made my first sale today which is a low ticket offer for $17. I'm currently uploading my full course over the weekend which will be a monthly membership.

You can't beat the validation feeling you get at the beginning of your venture when you make a sale (also people actually coming into the community!) This is what I'm working towards, too and I'm so freaking excited for you!!!
