Want to know what keeps a remote team genuinely connected?
If you ever jumped into one of our team calls, the first thing you’d hear is laughter. A meme in the chat. Someone sharing a quick win. A moment of gratitude before we dive in. We’re spread across time zones, yet it still feels like we’re sitting at the same table. Not because of tools. Not because of meetings. Because of connection. Here’s how we keep that connection strong: 1. We start with gratitude. One quick thing we’re grateful for, work or life. It shifts the energy immediately and helps everyone show up differently. 2. We overuse emojis. When you’re not across a desk from each other, tone matters. A well-timed GIF or emoji makes communication warmer, clearer, and more human. 3. We make space for fun. No-agenda calls. Monthly Fun Fridays. Time to celebrate wins and actually enjoy the people we work with. Culture isn’t built by proximity. It’s built by consistency, kindness, and a team that cares about how they work together. If you want a team that feels this connected , even while remote , your systems and culture have to support it. Both matter.

We are completely remote. When we went remote, nothing was planned or created by design to stay connected, we just fell into it. We always make a point to chit-chat about our weekends and what's happening with families. Sometimes we do a zoom meeting or call that starts with "Totally random...." Sometimes you might seem random objects in the background to see who can spot something that missing or added....Our day usually starts with some sort of "good morning" GIF to let it be known we are actually working. We are 95% remote with clients as well. We make a conscience effort to always look into the camera and not be looking around the room or onto different screens. We also make a point to chit-chat, ask about family etc. When we see clients in person, it tends to be a much warmer greeting as we all appreciate it more than we previously did.
Moving from eMoney to Right Capital
Hi community! Has anyone ever migrated from eMoney to Right Capital? Or know a specialist who may be able to support the transition. Would appreciate any insights, feedback or a consultant who can help! Thank you! @James Cantwell

Hi Kate, we are in the process of doing this now. We literally just started this month with the idea that it will take us 12 months to fully convert. We may end up keeping EMoney as a "legacy" platform. Since it is so early in the process, I am unsure if I can be of any help. Feel free to give me a call.
Seeking Compliance Consultant
We're a State registered RIA and I am not overly please with our current compliance firm as they have been tremendously slow to deliver my mock audit report. I was audited by the regulators and passed with flying colors without the support of the compliance firm. Per the State I had everything I needed. I am really looking for someone I can outsource my annual ADV filings, updates, someone I can call to ask questions, etc. I don't need a CCO or monthly compliance support subscription. I appreciate any recommendations.
Advyzon v. Black Diamond v. Tamarac
Greetings all! Our firm ($317M / 386 HHs) is considering a move away from Orion for a couple reasons: 1. This 8.9% upcharge for "out of pocket third-party expenses"; and 2. The platform is overkill for us - we use their Billing, Reports, Client Portal, Compliance, and Queries; and not much else. We use iRebal and Schwab Advisor Center for Rebalancing and Trading. In our due diligence, all three of Advyzon, BD, and Tamarac have seemingly better versions of all of those services. The big differences left are pricing and ease-of-use. Advyzon can replace both Orion and Redtail with their all-in-one platform - but will it be robust enough for us as we grow? (10%-15% per year) Black Diamond Reporting is very comprehensive and sleek, but we don't want to go back to Salesforce CRM. Tamarac has it all, but feels very similar to Orion and their CRM is more costly than Redtail. Will they be overkill for us as well? Is there anyone who has done this research already and made the move from Orion to any three of these other options? I'd like to know if you're satisfied with the move and if the transition was smooth. TIA!

@Joe Moss The CRM is pretty solid, it does pretty much everything Redtail does, but is different so there is a learning curve to adopt the CRM. The Orion to Advyzon learning curve is not really too difficult.

MailChimp - Redtail
This is a bit of a duplicate post, but based on replies I am refining.... We use Redtail and have a subscription to Mailchimp. I am have challenges with setting our Redtail tags/groups to go into the Mailchimp audiences, segments and tags. I ended up with several extra Audiences which tripled my bill from Mailchimp. (They did credit me back). We also use Advisorstream and Emoney Bamboo which allows for email lists to be pushed into their systems via integrations. Does anyone have a consultant or know how to set up Redtail in a way that they can be pushed into the above systems so we can select which group (status, category, tags or quicklist) gets an email. Sometimes it's everyone, other times it would be kids of clients, plan participants or only clients. I've asked Redtail for help but I can't seem to get someone to reply. I'm looking for a geek who can either show me how to set this up in each system or do it for us.

We're fun, we work as a team - the firm owns everything from clients to paperclips. We are a boutique firm which limits the number of clients.
