“What if the auction ends too low?”
I’ve had this pop up a few times in different forms “Do I risk cheapening my offers/brand if bids don’t go very high?” (Reputation risk) Or… “What if the winning bid falls short of our fulfillment costs?” Or “Can we set a reserve?” (Financial risk) Curious what y’all say to stuff like this I’ve been swinging attention back to the backend… where the bulk of sales are. Remind em that the main point isn’t where the auction ends… it’s all the leads we surface and what we do with them after the gavel drops “SOLD!” In one case we’re playing with the idea of doing tiers (instead of setting a reserve)… so when bidding hits a certain amount, new bonuses unlock that include more DFY stuff Then there’s Travis’s Dutch Auction 🤯 But I’m wondering if I’m missing an obvious answer to these Q’s… And if/how y’all deal with it? Tks in advance - appreciate your helps :)

@Chris Dyson I think this particular person‘s concern is that we auction off something she thinks should sell for $50,000 or more and having the auction end at like five grand

@Travis Sago it’s actually two separate peeps I’m chatting with right now… One does speaker services. Wants to auction off a done for you package (new website build, DFY gig outreach, one sheet creation, sizzle reel, keynote speech creation, etc). Like a speaking career catapult type thing. Has a team to help fulfill (but he’s gotta pay them) The other does biz optimization stuff… she wants to auction off full access to her past & future course catalog + 1:1 help… including a financial audit, sales & offer help, tax planning, etc etc (which has some fulfillment costs to it) She was kinda “kitchen sink-ing” it because she’s got so much stuff… this makes it so they don’t have to choose. Like “whatever you need for the next year, I got you” Just typing it out makes me think there’s probably a cleaner “CD3” offer for both of them though
Thoughts on Raffles vs auctions??
Got a contractor’s association interested in auctions Mentioned they already do raffles… Members provide the thing being raffled off Now… they currently don’t do squat with the non-winning ticket buyers (other leads) Made me think… If they run a raffle for a couple hundred dollar thing and collect that much (or more) in ticket sales… I can probably clean up just DM’ing everyone that bought a ticket with a special offer We’d lack some of the fun of the auction, competition, social proof & data around what people will pay, etc But… could still be a fun spin? What am I missing ?

@Travis Sago right on - thanks Travis! I’m awaiting some intel on what they usually raffle off and how that all works, maybe there’s still something there Running an auction is still in play though The members are mostly commercial construction contractors going after bigger government contracts

🎬 WON! Crazy Dutch Auction for Lifetime Ronin Status
🎬[This auction is finito, but leaving the post up for study. CONGRATULATIONS @Chris Dyson! I am freaking stoked to mix mojo with you!] 🤪(BIDDING WILL GO DOWN, not UP!) I’m auctioning off lifetime Ronin Status. For one investment the winner gets the following delicious benefits: 👉 Lifetime access at highest level to Ronin, Community FIRE Mojo and any future communities paid or free. 👉 Hang out and brainstorm auctions, offers, their biz and more with me and other Mojoans in the Mojo Mastermind. ($48,000 investment waived. 10% rev share on any projects we team up on.) 👉Put their name in lights and Co-Author a book with me in the future. The winner can put on their Amazon KDP account. 👉 Let’s make $$$ together: Co Run an Auction with me in one of my communities. We’ll do a 50/50 share. We can auction something of the winner’s, mine or a combo. It must solve a problem for my community, make me look like a hero, and not add a bunch of stuff to my plate. 😂 👉 VIP status When I do events in Little Rock. They’re in! The winner doesn’t pay for tickets. I’ll pay for most of their meals. I'll feed 'em like family! They cover airfare and hotel, please. (I try to do one small event a year.) 👉 Name your own BONUS Below. Here’s how this “Sago Dutch Auction” works… 👀 Starting bid is $95,000….and can go LOWER…keep reading. (Payments within reason are ok. Less than 3 years please.) I am biased. But that’s a steal for lifetime access above. I see things others don’t. I’ve added $1 million to mojo peeps life with one strategic insight… At the same time: Here’s how to play! 👇 There are 5 ways to Bid: Comment 👇 🤚 MINE - if you want it all now at $95,000 and PRoMISE to payoff in less than 3 years! 🧊 COLD - if $95,000 is a hard no! (Won’t hurt my feelings!) ☀️ WARM - if $95,000 is in the ballpark 🔥 HOT - if $95,000 is real close. Add your custom bonus that would get you “hotter” at anytime. At my discretion… If I have no winners.

Certainty feels real…
I got a few inches of snow overnight where I live in Michigan. The roads were horrible this morning. With the wind chill it’s 10 degrees and I’m working outside. I worked 12 hours in the cold on Saturday which is supposed to be my time. Most of my guys didn’t show because they were all “out of town” so I worked my ass off. Today I’m back at it… my wife sent me a picture of my boys at home… they’re playing outside since it’s the years first snow day. And here I am. Missing it. I’ve set the date March 20th, 2026 as my last day at a day job. About 130 days from now. Am I certain I’ll have the money saved by then? No. Am I certain I’ll actually leave on that date? My confidence has wavered. I keep coming back to the fact that there’s no certainty in life anyway. Certainty feels real. It isn’t. This job feels certain. But it’s not. I could get hurt tomorrow and be on the shelf. Lay offs can happen. People even die in this line of work too. Nothing is guaranteed. So what am I really afraid of? Taking a chance on myself? It’s harder when I’m the only income for my wife and kids. What if I “fail”? I wouldn’t be able to crawl back to my job and get my spot back. What would I do then? Who knows. you know what else isn’t certain? That my boys will always want to play in the snow with me. That I’ll always have the energy to build a better life. That I’ll get another chance at this. So maybe the real risk isn’t leaving. Maybe the real risk is staying and pretending this is certain. So I’ve got 130 days. I’m taking the steps. Building my way out. Not because I’m certain it’ll work. But because staying isn’t certain either. And at least I’m betting on myself.

As a blue collar dude I feel this. We get pretty similar weather here in Chicago. Cold AF right now and I've gotta go frame, sheath & roof a few little buildings. My goal is to permanently exit doing the work myself on these projects when the weather dips (but keep the fun stuff like building furniture... in a HEATED workshop lol) Good luck dude - cheering you on from Chicago PS - One of my best buds works for the water department out here, fixing main breaks & all the other fun stuff you cats get up to
An Interesting Partnership Opportunity
I used the ioi training the other day on my Facebook page. I just said, Client work. Love it or hate it? Had a couple people respond, we started chatting. Today I ended up on a first date call and he's already proposed 😂 I have known him for a number years. I've never really understood what he does but after today's call, I've learned that he creates AI. He doesn't just use AI to create tools, he creates the AI that the tools can be created with. Right now he is creating internal AI systems that work online or offline for a casino. AI that can tell pit bosses which customers are spending the most, and what table they're at so they can go butter them up. Stuff like that. Really interesting opportunity. Even has a 2 tiered affiliate offer but that's the sales side. He does not have an audience is a down side.

@Ben Newcomb I’m not in the industry but years ago did a lot of work for casinos in the gulf coast and USVI Marketing for casino equity? Very cool. How’d it work out?
