Cold calling
I’m in the process of getting my first client. Been cold emailing Medspa’s but it’s a volume play and will continue this. I’ve been learning how best to cold call. Does anyone have tips or have had great results they wish to share?

@Daniela Gattel Thank you for tagging me! :) Yes, I've been cold calling for years, and I've learned a few things. I'm also learning about shifting from my "past life" in cold calling (insurance sales) to a business-to-business model. The biggest things you're going to need are the right tone and the right words. You have to sound happy to talk to them, but not desperate. You want to say enough to get their attention, but not so much that you lose them in details. At least 70% of the time, you're going to have to get past a gatekeeper, so start with a nice introduction that gets their guard down. Keep a phone journal and make note of how every call goes. Did they hang up on you? Did they say not interested right off the bat? Did you get through to the decision maker? What went well? What didn't? Then look for patterns so you can craft a system that works more often than not. Beyond that, it's a huge numbers game. You have to call A LOT of people. Making 10 dials a day isn't going to cut it. You need to have multiple sincere conversations per day. That's how you're going to get clients from cold calls. I hope this helps!
COOOOOOOOOLD CALLING!
Hi! We included cold calling in our DR prospecting because it's something I'm VERY used to. At my former job, I was expected to make 250 outbound dials per day, and very few of those people we eager to hear from me. So, I thought this would be a piece of cake. Welllllll... I can handle the "no's" and the polite brush-offs, but I'm finding a lot of calls aren't even going through. The line will either go dead after 1 or 2 rings, or it'll sound like the person picks up and immediately hangs up without speaking. This is probably about 75% of my experience. I expect that when I'm calling individuals, but these are business lines (some of them BIG businesses). Does anyone else experience this with cold calls? Thanks!!! (P.S. I know prospecting is a numbers game, and I need to keep on dialing to get through to the right people. It just feels weird that there are so many hang ups.)

Client acquisition
I am a little concerned as I have been sending cold emails for the past two weeks about DR, but despite receiving 10 responses, I have not booked any meetings yet. I would appreciate some guidance on two matters. Firstly, I would like to know what channels have proven effective for others in acquiring clients? Secondly, I have a sizable lead list of cold leads complete with phone numbers. Would it make sense to initiate DR on these cold leads?

Hi Godwin! I'm still new at this particular venture, but in my 10 years in marketing and sales, I can tell you that a good old-fashioned phone call is probably going to be your best bet. An email is VERY easy to ignore, and they're very easy to miss because people get so many these days. Also, the people who are responding - are you setting them up in any kind of nurture campaign that keeps you top of mind?

We are OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED!
Hey everyone! I have been absent from the group for the past week or two - we've just been really focused on getting things in place, to LAUNCH! So, today is that day! My girlfriend, @Stephanie Barrow, took this week off from work to focus 100% on our business! We're right in the middle of Day 1 of this campaign, but I wanted to give you a sneak peek into what we're doing, what's happened so far, and then I'll update you as we get further along! We started today by doing Voicemail Drops to fitness studios. I scraped the names and numbers off of the internet and loaded them into a workflow. I read that the best times to do VM Drops are between 6:45am and 9am, or between 4pm and 6pm. I also read that the best days to launch are Tuesdays-Thursdays, but it's Monday, and we wanted to begin anyway. LOL I've also read that you should get between 4% and 8% call-backs. We found, through testing, that some of the VM drops were cutting off the first couple of seconds of the message, so we added 3 seconds of silence and a bit of audio at the beginning of the main message. We kept the finished message as close to 30 seconds as possible, which was recommended. Sooo - we went with the earlier hours, starting today, a MONDAY, hoping for a 4% call-back. We had done some testing, and found that if you have GHL send VMDs at the same time, with no delay between them, weird things happen. So we told it to send out 1 VM Drop per minute, between the hours of 6:45am and 9am, Pacific Time. We sent out 136, and very quickly had 8 call-backs. That's a 5.88% call-back, above our hoped-for 4%! So, we had some glitches, had our settings wrong, and Stephanie wasn't seeing the calls come in (they were routing to me!), so she's calling them back now, about 2 hours later. What this tells me, is that sending out VM Drops DOES get call-backs! So far, all of them are essentially just calling back without having listened to our VM, but that's okay - the intention is to use VM Drops to find the right person to talk with, and that's happening. Perhaps as the day progresses, we will have some people who hear the message and call us back!
