Hi! We included cold calling in our DR prospecting because it's something I'm VERY used to. At my former job, I was expected to make 250 outbound dials per day, and very few of those people we eager to hear from me. So, I thought this would be a piece of cake. Welllllll...
I can handle the "no's" and the polite brush-offs, but I'm finding a lot of calls aren't even going through. The line will either go dead after 1 or 2 rings, or it'll sound like the person picks up and immediately hangs up without speaking. This is probably about 75% of my experience.
I expect that when I'm calling individuals, but these are business lines (some of them BIG businesses). Does anyone else experience this with cold calls?
Thanks!!!
(P.S. I know prospecting is a numbers game, and I need to keep on dialing to get through to the right people. It just feels weird that there are so many hang ups.)
