Days when someone else’s nervous system is louder than your own. - Caregivers (of any kind) - Helpers Who Can’t “Clock Out” - Partners in Emotional Imbalance - Adults Who Grew Up Regulating Others - Leaders Holding Emotional Space - Anyone Living With High Ambient Stress Time: 90 seconds Where: Anywhere you can stand or sit Props: Your imagination Step 1: Name the Invisible Load Place one hand on your chest while thinking of the challenge and quietly say (or think): “This is not all mine.” Step 2: Borrow the Ground Now imagine the floor beneath you isn’t just a floor. It is an ancient, steady nervous system. Press your feet down gently and imagine sending 10% of the intensity you’re carrying downward. Breathe out through your mouth like you’re fogging a mirror. Step 3: De-Role Yourself (This Is the Special) Softly shrug your shoulders once and whisper: “Off duty for 60 seconds.” Imagine setting down: - the monitoring - the adjusting - the holding it together Let your arms hang heavy. Step 4: Remember Who You Were Before Today Touch something on your body that has nothing to do with your "role." (wrist, ankle, collarbone, anywhere neutral). Say silently: “I am more than this moment.” Stay here for three slow breaths.
