October Training
First Day! Did I train today? Yes Siu Num Tao (first 10 vids) When will I train next? Sunday, 20 Oct Observations: - I am hella outta shape! (No surprise to anyone who knows me “irl”.) - The stance is deceptively hard (for now 😝) - Having no training partner may be a bigger hindrance than I realized - may need to cajole my children into helping me. - I like being in no hurry to learn. When I was younger (like many of us, I suppose) I would have been horribly impatient to be an expert in an hour. - Four days without a shower is three days too many.

Wing Chun structure focuses on using the skeleton effectively to handle force and generate power. This way, you’re not relying on raw muscle strength, which can be limited by size, age, or fitness level. Instead, Wing Chun teaches us to engage the entire skeletal frame, so pressure is distributed across the body, rather than isolated in a single muscle group. The process begins with sensing—becoming aware of your skeletal system. When you learn to feel into each part of your body, from head to toe, you’re unifying your structure. With practice, this awareness can deepen, even under pressure, allowing you to maintain structure without fighting force with force. To start, practice sensing your body, focusing on each part as one unified structure. This builds structural integrity and helps release tension, which is essential for effective, relaxed movement. As you train, aim to direct this awareness toward your target, aligning every part of your body toward a common point. If you have questions, drop them below.
