Intro Video - Now or Wait?
Hello to Everyone, I am new to the group and grateful for Alexa allowing me to join. I have just finished editing my channel intro video. I have the thumbnail ready and am ready to upload it and the video to my youtube channel. In my intro video I mention that I will have a new episode every week. I am wondering if I should wait to upload, and take live, the intro video now, or wait until I have a backlog of the weekly videos. I have mixed thoughts on this, and would very much like to hear everyones opinions on how to proceed. TYIA, RJ Also, is it ok to share my thumbnail and video with the group? Being a newbie I would love, and need, as much feedback as I can get. Thank You! RJ

Great job on having your first video ready. At the beginning, you will have few views, so it doesn't much matter whether you publish it or bank it now. It depends on your schedule, and whether you are able to get videos ready according to your schedule. Probably the best is a compromise, wait a week or so, and then publish so that you can ensure some type of consistency.
I made 100 videos!!!
I originally started this channel 8 years ago. I was discouraged so I stopped. 8 months ago, I wanted to continue. My channel is about helping disempowered people empower themselves (while I play games :p) Although I don't have the subs or views that I want- I focused on what I could control- which was my output.

I set up Buy Me a Coffee a few days ago and mentioned it in my latest video....the first video since setting it up. Within 1.5 hours I had my first $5 tip! Woo Hoo!!

That is wonderful. I signed up for kofi a while ago, but I haven't mentioned it in a video, except as a place to put free chart. I haven't put very much in there though.
Why Being an Over-40 Content Creator Is Your Secret Weapon
So check this out. Let me tell you something that contradicts everything you'll hear from the "creator economy gurus." Your age isn't a disadvantage. It's your competitive moat. While 25-year-olds are churning out their 47th "5 ways to be productive" video, you've actually managed teams through genuine crises. You've navigated office politics. You've delivered bad news to stakeholders. You've built things that matter. That's not just experience. That's an unfair advantage. The Trust Arbitrage Nobody Talks About Here's what I've learned building The Content Revenue Lab: professionals over 40 trust other professionals over 40. Instantly. When a 28-year-old tells them how to "crush it" on LinkedIn, there's scepticism. When someone who's been in the trenches for 20 years shares what actually works? That's different. Think of it like this: Would you take marriage advice from someone who's been married three months? Or from someone who's navigated 15 years, including the hard parts? Your audience isn't looking for hype. They're looking for credibility. You've got decades of it. The Pattern Recognition Superpower After 20+ years in any field, something magical happens in your brain. You start seeing patterns that everyone else misses. I spent 25 years in marketing. When I look at a content strategy now, I don't just see tactics. I see the underlying structure - what will work, what won't, and why. I can predict the failure points before someone even launches. Your younger competitors are still collecting data points. You're already seeing the patterns. That means you can diagnose problems faster, offer solutions with nuance, and provide insights that actually save people time and money. This is why your content can be shorter, more direct, and more valuable than the 40-minute rambling videos from creators who haven't lived what they're teaching. The "I've Made That Mistake" Authority Young creators have to manufacture credibility. You've earned it through failure.
