How many videos to start with
Hey ya'll. I have an existing channel, but I am going to start a new and totally different one in a new niche. I haven't found a lot of resources for how many video's to start with. Some say start with multiple so YT has more data for your niche. Then I have heard where if you have more than one, that viewers may get off to soon and YT will give you negative marks. What's ya'lls opinion including Alexa's. Anyone had success with multiple vids to start and if so how many? Dropped at once or scheduled over how long a period of time?

There usually aren't a lot of viewers at the beginning, so instead of holding on to videos to post later, I would rather just get them out. The only reason I can think of to hold on to them is to get a little bit ahead of schedule so that you can post consistently.
30,000 Subscribers in 11 Months
Since I joined this group the day before I actually launched my channel it seems appropriate to share this here and to thank @Alexa Saarenoja for all of her encouragement and insights in the early days of my channel. Subscribers are only one metric of a channel, but I am pretty excited at hitting 30,000 subscribers. Especially since I started my channel at 80 years old and I only do this part time, with a total of 61 videos and six of them are shorts. Actually, I am more excited about the comments and the shares. The shares, especially indicate word-of-mouth which there is no way you could buy this advertising. It is the secret sauce of a channel’s growth.

Yes, it takes a long time of publishing videos, learning skills, and keeping going despite all evidence to the contrary. How many videos have you made? What is your channel?
Not sure I can continue this journey
I wasn't sure where to place this because I'm not sure if I'm looking for advice, feedback or an Okay to go ahead and let go of my channel. I have been struggling with grow, views, everything quite frankly with my channel since about May. I felt like I was finally on the turn around after many videos did well, at least well enough for me. I have been stuck in the under 100 views for months now. In October, I had a major surgery, took a break and worked on revamping my channel - creating a more stacked niche and was excited to get back to it. However, I am feeling frustrated and I don't know what to do at this point. This is 5 years on YouTube, and I didn't start to really pay attention, learning more about making videos until about 2 years ago. I finally reached 1K subscribers earlier in the summer, had a sponsored post in May and now I'm not sure what to do at this point. I also want to say I know that many have seen a huge decrease in views, etc. However, what really bothers me is I was only 5 hours away from being monetized, until it dropped off the hours and now back at almost 1K hours needed. I have enough videos filmed to finish out the year but I'm hoping anyone can offer some help, suggestions or advice. Thank you so much for taking the time to read.

It really is frustrating that the hours are limited to one year. I wish they would change that. I had the same problem as it felt I was on a treadmill as my hours slipped away as fast as I earned them. I had to make an extra push to get through that time and I felt like giving up too. Just realize that once you get through this hurdle, there aren't any more. You can give up now, but then you will give up on all the work you have done so far. I am proud of having gotten through that hurdle.

@Chip Jr. Unfortunately, if you take a hiatus now, you will lose all the watch hours you have already earned. It is time to double down not quit.
Be honest… what’s been your biggest struggle with making money online? 💭
Let’s be real, everyone wants to make money online, but most of us have hit the same wall at some point. You watch others post screenshots of their wins, and you think… “What are they doing differently?” For me, it wasn’t about the lack of motivation, I had plenty of that. It was the confusion. Too many courses. Too many “gurus.” Too many promises. What changed everything for me was when I finally stopped chasing quick fixes and started focusing on building real brand that solve real problems. Once I learned how to turn my brand into a system and treat it like a business, not a hobby and everything shifted. Clients came in. Confidence grew. The money followed. Now I realize success online isn’t about luck, it’s about structure, mentorship, and consistency. And that’s exactly what this community is about: people who are done guessing, ready to grow, and willing to put in the work. But let’s be honest… What’s been your biggest challenge so far when trying to make money online? Finding something that actually works? Staying consistent? Overthinking every step? Not having the right people around you? Drop it in the comments 👇 Let’s have a real conversation.....no fake success stories, just real experiences and growth.
