OOTD
I don't often post my OOTD because there's seldom much that's distinctive. But I did get this new watch chain for my waistcoat, so I thought I'd show it off.

Bespoke Experiences
Happy Thursday everyone!! Today is a busy day. Lots of meetings etc. But tonight I get to go into the city for a "fitting" for some bespoke clothing I commissioned a couple of months ago. I had decided to treat myself and get some shirts, trousers and a Blue Blazer. Only working on the "Staples" and to see how I like it compared to MTM. Clothing fit has always been an issue for me as I have an interesting body. 48" jacket and a 34" waist. After several surgeries as a child I have 1 shoulder that drops 2.5" more than the other which can tend to be a nightmare for a tailor even in MTM. So I decided to try Bespoke. So far the process has been very interesting. I'm currently been wearing a "Test" shirt. This is 1 of the shirts that was made. I have worn it 5+ times with laundering both at home and the dry cleaner and for this fitting I am wearing the shirt again so they can see how it shrank or has fit my body. My last fitting they took notes about the shirt and are making changes to the next ones. Same with the blazer and trousers. Tonight will be my 3rd fitting and I have to say there is a world of difference between a high end MTM (at least from where I have been in the past) and Bespoke. I'm not sure I can afford Bespoke for the rest of my like but this has been amazingly eye opening and the knowledge I am gaining through this experience will help me with MTM and off the rack and getting the fit right. Anyone else have and Bespoke experiences?

I periodically get emails from a bespoke tailor who comes through Chicago. Perhaps next time I'll take them up on the offer.
Inquiry: Building a Wardrobe and Weight Loss
Hey guys. Does anyone know of a resource where I can learn all the ways a tailor can alter clothing? My thoughts are if I can understand that, I can know ow which pieces to buy and understand how that piece will be affected by the weight loss. For example, pants seem pretty simple, They just bring the waist in. And I imagine that there could be a line of demarcation where so many inches off the waist can make the rest of the pants look silly. Correct me if I am wrong on that. But the big question mark for me is shirts. Are dress shirts safer to buy and alter as you lose, and polos just replace as they get too big? Ive seem the dress shirts polos at collar & Co, can those be altered?

This has been on my mind too, having lost a good bit of weight recently and lacking some basic sewing skills. I did however just bring a couple of suits to my tailor this morning (whose name, I learned, is Elizabeth!), and will probably be bringing more clothes too her in dribs and drabs in the coming months. I also just got a couple of new pair of casual pants to replace ones that I probably COULD have had altered, but decided was too much effort.
Is this tie knot acceptable?
Hello guys, I used to only wear a Windsor knot, but I want to add some alternatives to my repertoire. This morning, I tried tying a Kelvin knot using an online tutorial. I somewhat succeeded, but I’m unsure about the quality. Could you please review it and tell me if you would deem it acceptable? My biggest problem is with the dimple, should it look this way? Thanks for your advice.

Honestly, I really need tie lessons. Even with the diagrams online here, my ties usually wind up looking like this.
Shave of the week
This is a good one if you have sensitive skin. Mitchell’s wool fat soap is pure lanolin and you will not have a smoother shave with anything else. Murkur futr razor big bulky and adjustable. A real heavyweight and a phenomenal piece of German engineering. Wilkinson sword blades, mild for use in the Murkur. Pre shave oil is looked after by Murdock, this is a new purchase for me and this is the second time using it, but it seems to work fine. Finished off with Creed Adventus aftershave balm. This was a free gift from the company. Honestly save your money it doesn’t really work as a balm and didn’t soothe the skin at all. All with the trusty badger hair brush. Happy shaving chaps.

I've always thought I might grab a shave brush one day. This might actually inspire me to do so. It's tough to find a decent straight razor as well.

@Bernie Henesy Ooh. Thanks for the link. I've just always been told that they offer a closer shave (though I know it takes some skill).
