Author of Influence Bonus
Hi Ray, and hello from Bonnie Scotland. I'm looking for the bonus template that was due to be shared Sept 29th, it hasn't appeared in my inbox. Can you help?

@Dympna McKenna , so glad you are from Scotland! It IS bonnie! And the people there are bonnie too--and I could listen to their wonderful accent all day. My husband's grandfather was from Inverness, so I surprised my husband by having a piper at our wedding!
Chapter 1
Wonderful workshop today, great content! QUICK QUESTION on writing the first draft of Chapter 1... I have heard that we will LOSE people if we do not grasp their interest and attention in the FIRST 30 PAGES of our book. If that is correct, should Chapter 1 be an OVERVIEW (30,000 foot view) of their Problem and then Solution (how we can help them)... and then the remaining chapters will break it down in DETAIL using the PASTOR Framework? - OR - Do we use Chapter 1 for the "P", Chapter 2 for "A", Chapter 3 to S...etc. to tell OUR STORY?

@Rhonda Tharp You could also go on Amazon and look at the opening chapters of the top 25 non-fiction books and see what they did. The opening pages of the opening chapter of a book usually make or break if a person buys a book and reads it.
Storing ideas & data
For years I have been thinking about how to collect and efficiently store great ideas for copy, titles, articles, as well as Facebook-posts that talk about the pain of my ideal client. In FB I can mark those but they might get deleted or I forget to even check it out. Sometimes clients say something really nice about me and my work, their successes about working wit me. I have not yet found a storage place where I can effectively store it. I could start (yet another) Trello board. Learning yet another platform like Norton does not sound like fun. Watching Day 1 last night I thought that some of the data could be stored in ClarityScribe, right? But then, I have a lot of success stories, stories, pain points, etc. Not storing it has disadvantages: - data, pain points, success stories, stories get lost - you lose so much time when assembling promo - what a waste of time - I've got to solve it. How do you, Ray, Bryan, solve it? What do you use. PS: I'm not a mac user...

@Bryan Switalski I use my notes app a lot on my iPhone, but never thought of using it for this! Love that idea!
Deborah Galuk - PASTOR Framework - read, feedback welcome
I am sharing the document I just wrote this afternoon. I am GREAT at helping people with results - AND this is a new market without specific outcomes. I knew this and can see it in some of the copy I wrote. I know that the WHO and their PAIN and RESULTS THEY CRAVE drive all of it. Here is where I am. Thanks for reading, commenting, etc. PERSON who is perfect client Age 45-50+; woman; any children are in college or completed; Profession or business: Has been in a corporate leadership position at some point; may still be in a corporate job or else wanting to transition into something else OR may have her own business and want to grow it Education and income level? Well-educated, at least 4-year degree or more; income level: $150K + have earned well in the past, even if now there is a slump. She has resources. Live - US; probably suburban area What do they read: inspirational /personal development sites; health + wellness; women empowerment areas; industry publications; spiritual; online news sources; politics; money/investing; travel; fashion; art; music; What social networks are they on: linked in; facebook; instagram NOT: crass, cheap, or victim mentality; ARE spiritual although perhaps not religious She values her health and may even have this as a hobby These are entrepreneurially minded women who are “NOT done yet! and want more vitality and life in their days. PROBLEM The single biggest problem they face is they feel STUCK in a never ending loop; “get in their own way”. The internal resistance they experience when approaching the new area, the venture, project, work, doing the task - it could look like procrastination, avoidance, indecision, self-doubt. In some cases they may KNOW what to do, but don’t. OR they are unsure what the actual task is. In extreme cases, even talking about GOALS can shut her down - because of her history of not following through, things not working out, roadblocks. She has a faulty internal narrative and self-image that “shuts her down” when facing into new tasks and building new skills. Part of this is hooked into her identity as a woman - and it is conditioned into her. She is partially aware of this but not completely nor to the depth of its permeation.

@Deborah Galuk, you sound like you can really get people places! You've thought this through extremely thoroughly for yourself, which is excellent. I think that for your ideal clients you now need to boil this big body of thoughts down into a few really short, powerful, compelling statements of the few most important results you can give them that they are desperate for. If they are confused by too much information, or are not instantly totally clear on what transformation they will get from you--they won't go forward. (This is why top billboards and ads are unbelievably simple. For example, think of the message on Wall-Mart trucks: "Save Money. Live Better." ) Inside your book, you can include extra things you know your readers need. But when you communicate to them to bring them to your book or your other offerings, your message has to be super simple. And the act of super simplifying will clarify things to you yourself and strengthen all of your communication to your readers.
