First Set Feels Strong, Second Set Collapses — Need Help
I've been training consistently for 3 years. Earlier this year, I was making progress almost every workout — hitting PRs and still getting solid reps on my following sets. For example, I’d hit a PR on chest press with 70 lbs for 11 reps, and then get 8–9 reps on the next set with the same weight. But recently, it’s been getting much harder to hit PRs, and the drop-off between sets has gotten way steeper. Now, I might get 11 reps on the first set, but then only 5 reps on the second. What could be causing this, and how should I approach it?

@Kenneth Pryor Also, could I be in newbie gains for some muscles, but not others? Like if I started training one muscle way after starting the rest, would that one still have newbie gains, or did I just waste my newbie gains by not training that muscle?

@Kenneth Pryor isn't it bad for your reps to go below half on the 2nd set (ex: 11 to 5). I'm trying to fix that. If you mean in general, I'm trying to build muscle mass.
3 Fitness Rules
The 3 Golden Rules of Beginner Fitness Stop complicating it. 1️⃣ Train 3–5x/week (full-body movements) 2️⃣ Eat mostly Whole Foods 3️⃣ Sleep 7–9 hours/night Master this = 90% results. No secrets. No BS.

I think these are dumb rules. You could train a different number of days, you could be eating whole foods but not getting enough protein or calories, and personally, 7 seems really low. Instead, I would say: 1️⃣ Focus on progressive overload 2️⃣ Eat the calories to reach your goal 3️⃣ Consistency
Anyone else just dance for no reason?
I was talking to my brother another this today and thought it was kinda jokes. When I make food, shower, get dressed, workout, hangout with friends, etc… I am always always dancing to some extent. When I’m alone definitely more full on. Lowkey a sick strategy for burning calories. Constantly moving. When I used to train my clients. I remember one, Olivia, if she was having a bad day I would dance to make her laugh. It’s so fun to embarrass yourself to make others happy.

@Adonis Argentino if that were true, I'd be the greatest dancer in the world. The things I see are insane

Yo, we should have a dance competition
Haven't had a weighted dead hang PR since December
In December, I hit 110 pounds for 70 seconds. Today, I did 90 pounds for 59 seconds. What has weakened my dead hang so much? I've gained only a couple pounds since then. I tried giving my forearms a multiweak rest; that didn't help. What I do is usually 4 sets to failure at the beginning of my weekly arm workout. How do I fix this and get past 110 pounds for 70 seconds?
