Closed the Loop!
Still in an extremely productive time phase. Feeling finished two projects that having been sitting there , waiting for me for the last two years! Oh and I got an interview for my dream job ( and totally in keeping with the AI report that points out what I am good at and what i love doing and thats creating scenic ambience , sets for various productions and teaching the se skills to others! So i uave applied for a position of Scenic art manager in a leading Theatrical Arts Academy in London . And this is a first interview I got after months of applying for various art jobs and not even getting anreply sometimes. So really even if I dont get this one, my confidence in my abilities has shifted over the last couple of weeks . I thank Jim and this community for helping me find this confidence !
Keto Question from Q&A Researched
I was shocked to be chosen on Q&A today, and I asked specifically why Keto seemed to give me more clarity, energy, and less brain fog. I've done Keto back in 2023 successfully and kept off the weight, but now I go on and off again...but I find what a difference it makes in my clarity, mood, and energy. Since then, I've found out I have ADHD, and I was only on Keto at the beginning of this year. Jim gave great advice (as usual), but didn't directly answer my question as to the science behind Keto, because he admitted - he didn't know. But I looked it up, and here it is if you want to know: When you do a Keto diet, you are putting your body into a state of ketosis, which means your body will start burning fat rather than sugar. You lower the sugars in your body to a point that they have no other choice, and that's when ketones are released. When that happens - being in the states of ketosis - it give the ADHD brain stealer a fuller and more balanced brain chemistry. The ADHD brain tends to struggle with dopamine regulation, energy consistency, and inflammation; Ketosis helps with all three of these, and here's why: You get more stable brain fuel, which typically runs on glucose, but that spikes and crashes you. ADHD brains are already sensitive to fluctuations, so they can cause brain fog, distractions, and irritability. BUT...when in ketosis, the brain now runs on ketones, which provide steady energy, don't spike and crash you, and cross the blood-brain barrier easily so it makes for clearer thinking, longer focus, and fewer mental dropouts. This is why the ketogenic diets were originally used for neurological conditions like epilepsy in children - look it up. It was developed by a doctor over 100 years ago! Since ADHD also struggles with low or poorly regulated dopamine levels, ketosis helps dopamine signalling by improving the mitochondrial function (brain energy production), reducing dopamine receptor resistance, and stabilizing blood sugar, which affects dopamine release. Therefore, it gives fewer cravings, less impulsive eating, and better task persistence.

ADHD & Hormones (menstrual cycle)
I hear a lot of people talking about ADHD related to perimenopause, and I have also read that the hormones can influence and highten ADHD symptoms, not only when you reach perimenopause, but actually EACH month! 😅 So now I am wondering if any of you noticed a pattern between your ADHD symptoms getting hightened during your cycle? Or maybe your ADHD-brain hightened your PMS or mood-swings? I was often told by my ex that I had crazy mood swings during my cyclus, that I would become someone completely else, and that she had never experienced someone "transforming" like this in neither herself or any other woman. From the inside it just felt like I became more introvert sometimes, and granted, maybe a tad more annoyed with everything 😆 I never knew, why I might get more influenced by hormones, or just didn't seem to be able to regulate it proberly, but now I am thinking if there is a possible link between this behaviour and the ADHD brain? 🤔 Last week, I was feeling energized and motivated to make changes, and implement new structures to my life. This week I am back to feeling completely deflated, and lacking motivation to even move out off the couch. I am back to the feeling of "I know I REALLY should be working" (especially now that I just maxed out on the 6-week course), but I just can't find it in me. So both fysical and mental energy DROPPED heavily, in a few days. Spoiler alert: My menstruation arrived monday morning, same time as the drop in energy and motivation. Coincidence? I don't know 🤷‍♀️

@Sarah Kristensen I relate so much to what you have highlighted in your post. I found my brain and body started to work against each other about 10 years ago when I started to go through peri meno.but the info about hormonal changes and ADHD was so scarce and ambiguous. I suspect I lived with ADHD for most of my life, but I think i masked it quite well. lateness and disorganisation has been major traits throughout my life , but i always managed to scrape along with various excuses, until i couldn’t. I started to get overwhelmed and exhausted at the effort of keeping it all together and pretending I am ok. now looking at my Mum ( shes in her mid 80’s ) so many things about her quirky and slightly odd behaviour now makes perfect sense! So many things that she did and does, point so strongly that she too has lived with neurodivergence all her life without addressing the issue, which got worse after she started going through menopause. But her generation did not discuss periods and or menopause or mental health issues that they struggle with daily. It was all hidden under the vail of “women’s things that you dont mention! “ Not even to your daughters! The ethos was just to get on with life and live behind the mask of ok- ness . So women of MY age (55) grew up with having hardly any info passed on about any of the above. i have no kids, but I am determined to be frank and open with my friends kids ( both girls AND boys need to know this!) and my nieces, as this knowledge ( and wisdom !) needs to be passed on so it stops being a taboo topic. The struggles of us “ middle aged crazy ladies” needs to be brought to light, so we can all have an open conversation!
AI report has been enlightening
The report has given me a huge insight into the way my internal beliefs, my childhood experiences and my coping strategies and mechanisms work ( or why sometimes they do not!) Had few teething issues as few times it did not log in what i said and I had to start again. Got past frustrating glitches, and came out the other side armed with tools of insight into how my brain works, and compassion for how it struggles to fit into a world not designed for it! Somethings were not a surprise at all but other bits of report flooded me with emotions and tears of relief. I saw myself in a new light and I liked what I saw.
