🚀 BIG PERSONAL MILESTONE (Sharing a Win) 🚀
After a long lead time and plenty of quiet work behind the scenes, I’ve finally set the pre-release date for my cyber crime trilogy — 1 September — with pre-orders now live on Amazon. No sales pitch here. Just sharing the win. Hitting that date feels huge. There’s something powerful about locking in a deadline and actually meeting it. One of the best parts of this journey has been this community. The ideas, experience, reality checks, and encouragement here are exactly what I’ll be leaning on next — especially around promotion, launch strategy, and all the things that happen between now and release day. Grateful to be surrounded by people who genuinely get the process. Onward 🚀📚

Congrats, I know you do not mind if I am a copy cat to do the same/similar things meaning publishing books, love the inspiration I am feelin now! Let me check to see if your books are on audible, if not the cover alone is drawing me to them.
🎬 Books Turned Into Movies
Books becoming movies always sparks opinions—sometimes the book is better, sometimes the movie hits harder, and sometimes they’re just… different. Does a book-to-movie adaptation ever influence you to buy the book?Or do you usually watch the movie first and skip the reading altogether? 👇 Let’s turn this into a fun thread: Drop your favorites below - A book you read before it became a movie - OR a movie you loved and later found out it was a book first - Tell us if you read the book, watched the movie, or both ⚠️ Important rule so this stays organized: 👉 One comment per book → movie recommendation 👉 Add a GIF that matches the book or movie This way we end up with a clean, scrollable list of recommendations everyone can save. Can’t wait to see what shows up 🍿📚

So my experience is I read this book from one of my favorite authors - John Grisham. The book entitled The Firm, later become a movie. I read the book again and watched the movie it (book and movie) did not disappoint me. I have to admit the reasons for me watching the movie could be classified as selfish because some of the scenes were filmed in the city where I live and a relative was in the scene on the monorail passenger walkway and if memory serves me correctly Tom Cruise bumped into him while running. I always prefer reading the book first, then the movie. I love Grisham so I would have watched any movie about his books.
How Successful Self-Publishers Think Differently
Most people think their biggest problem with publishing a book is not knowing what to do. But, in reality, it’s about your mindset to overcome issues when they arise. A few mindset shifts I’ve seen make the biggest difference 👇 1️⃣ From “I need this to work fast” → “I’m building an asset.” Books aren’t lottery tickets. They’re digital assets you set up once and improve over time. have always seen my books as assets - sure, some don't work, but those breakout books that make thousands are worth the effort. Plus, some books that don't sell well on Amazon sell great on other platforms like TikTok! 2️⃣ From “I’m not a writer” → “I’m a problem-solver.” You don’t need to be creative. You need to help a specific reader with a specific problem. Plus, even if you don't want to write the book at all, it does not mean you can't be a successful self-publisher. Most of my books I leverage ghostwriters so that I can focus on the strategy of making that investment worth it! 3️⃣ From “I need it perfect” → “Done and optimized beats perfect.” Most successful books weren’t perfect at launch. They were improved after the data came in. I don't get hung up on perfection anymore; I get the books accomplished and published. There might be some minor typos or grammar issues I didn't catch in the initial editing - that's okay if someone catches it and complains, I go back in and find the error and fix the manuscript. Remember, you can make these updates as you go! 4️⃣ From “Why isn’t this selling?” → “What can I test or tweak?” Title, cover, description, categories—publishing is iterative, not personal. The authors who win long-term aren’t the smartest or most talented. They’re the ones who stay the course, keep testing, and don’t quit early. 👉 Curious—what mindset shift has helped you the most so far? Or which one do you struggle with right now?

My mindset is #3 wanting my book to be perfect. This in turn makes me continue to look at it and have a mindset change which is a good thing because I am loving the changes which I consider upgrades. This community helps so much with my learning of all things self published author.
Learning From a 4 Year Old
Watching my son learn how to read 📘 has been one of the most humbling things. He’s four, sounding out letters, piecing together words, celebrating the smallest wins. Reading is something we expect kids to learn. It’s built into the system. Publishing isn’t. Most adults were never taught how to publish a book. Some were never encouraged to write at all. Many second-guess themselves before they even get one sentence on the page. And that’s not a flaw — it’s a gap in education. The difference between people who publish and people who don’t isn’t talent. It’s a choice. A choice to learn. A choice to invest in yourself. A choice to keep improving instead of staying stuck. Just like reading, publishing is a skill. And skills can be learned at any age — if you’re willing to take action. 👉 If you’ve been sitting on a book idea and you’re ready to make this the year it actually happens, comment “BOOK” below and let’s take the first step together.

@Bradley Deacon Thank you for confirming my vision regarding affirmations for our children. This is beautiful. My love of books and literacy comes from several family members in addition to my parents.📚 this should be a quote - Whether it’s reading, writing, or publishing — the seeds we plant matter more than we realize.
