Earnings calculator
Hey all. I created a very basic earnings calculator using Claude. You can plug in your video views, CPM - if you're monetized, and also plug in any income you get from selling your own or affiliate offers. You can even calculate churn. You can use it to set goals or to ensure you're staying on track with the goals you have. Let me know what you think of it, I hope it's helpful. https://claude.ai/public/artifacts/a422b809-4c49-4849-8c38-1396a359a57c

YouTube Thumbnail Help
Can someone help me make a thumbnail for my upcoming video? I am new to all of this and making thumbnails is one of those tasks where my mind just shuts off. If someone is willing to help, message me on my private window and I will send you the material for the thumbnail. Thankyou.

@Roman Bellic the better advice I can give you is to get into your YouTube home page and study some thumbnails. Also look in your suggested row. Ask yourself - what question does this thumbnail bring up? Where's the curiosity? What's the difference between the thumbnail and the title? This puts you in an empowered state where you can start understanding what makes up a good thumbnail. If we give you thumbnails, that's like putting a band-aid on the problem for you. Hope this is helpful.
Thumbnail and Title Review Request
I need some feedback on the thumbnail and title for my next video. I'm just not sure these will grab people's attention. Title: Stop Blaming Yourself! It's Your Watercolor Paper (Competition Results) Which thumbnail works better? Or do they need to be quite different from what they are now? If you need more explanation, read on. My intro says, "If your watercolor paintings disappoint you, stop blaming yourself. It's probably your paper. Imagine your watercolors flowing on the paper evenly without fussing! To learn how to do this, join me at the Watercolor Paper Playoffs, where we'll find the best performing watercolor paper for the money". Then the video switches to the stadium and MC's who are hosting the competition, which then shows the tests and scores till there is a winner. BTW, the watercolor paper tests are real, done by me. The competition is made up to try to cause tension for the viewer.

@Peggy Bishop Here's a screenshot of a winning thumb and title. Notice the emotion in the title - "will shock you". Also cheap watercolor paper - specificity. The only thing I don't like is that the title and thumbnail text is basically the same. The second video title and thumb about wasting paper performed even better. People hate to waste things - especially their time and money. Add a bit more specificity to your title - cotton paper? Budget? Here's 3 for you. 1. "This Watercolor Paper Changed EVERYTHING – I Tested 4 So You Don’t Have To!" Why it works: Adds emotional payoff and positions the video as saving the viewer time and money. Echoes the "shock" language that worked in similar videos. 2. "I Tested 4 Watercolor Papers… and One Blew Me Away!" Why it works: Creates curiosity (which one?), emotional engagement ("blew me away"), and a clear value proposition. 3. "STOP Using the Wrong Watercolor Paper – I Found the BEST One!" Why it works: Urgency with “STOP,” plus emotional relief and a strong payoff – aligns with the structure from “Stop Wasting Expensive Watercolor Paper.”

Affiliate Links
What do you use to shorten (sometimes really long!) affiliate links?

If you have a wordpress site, you can use a plug in called Pretty Links. It works great. Shortens links, has good tracking. And it's accepted on all sites.
When Your Story Gets Lost In Time
I like the idea of sharing my story. Being authentic causes people to engage. But after you tell your story, you make the next video... and the next... and the next... etc. And soon your story is lost in time, buried in the past amongst all the newer content. So, how do you keep your story up front so it remains relevant for the new people who missed it? Do you repeat it every so often? How do you handle this?

@Jim Shane It's not necessary to repeat your whole story in the intro. That kills the hook. Hook first, then short Hey, Jim here, author and creator of the core method. (after a while, I when views stabilize and the channel is growing, I'd drop the whole thing and just intro your name. You can also put your story in the intro video people see when they access your channel. And in the description. People will look you up if you keep the videos engaging.
