YouTube Shorts kinda sucks...
11 Million SHORTS views = $370... this is why I am switching to long-form YouTube content. Most SHORTS viewers come from TikTok anyways where the attention span is 2 seconds. What are your thoughts?

Using notion to create a personal website
I used notion to create my personal website: https://miaaiyanac.notion.site/miaaiyanac/Mia-Aiyana-Cardenas-aae43fb0d3254a5187004ffb9003421b I don't think creating a personal website is super necessary at all, but I enjoy how all of my work from different platforms is laid out on one page. If you like the layout, you can duplicate it if you want to use it when you create your own. Warning: It's not minimalistic.

I am a new user to Notion and I want to be where all of you are but I simply am not. I keep getting told about finding templates on the side bar and I don’t see anything called templates on my left side bar. Maybe they moved it and their training materials hasn’t caught up. For a new user experience, the jury is still out for me. I am hoping to hear back from tech support soon to start working on my 2nd brain. Not a fan - yet
YouTube Shorts aspect ratio 1080X1080 works for shorts
I recently discovered (new to me) an exciting tip for those of you who produce YouTube Shorts. Did you know that YouTube automatically qualifies videos with a 1080x1080 resolution or a square aspect ratio as Shorts? This information can be a game-changer if you want to repurpose your long-form content for Shorts or simply desire a slightly wider view for your original Shorts. I personally learned about it and successfully applied it earlier this week! So, if you're interested in exploring new possibilities with your Shorts, keep in mind that using a 1080x1080 resolution or sticking to a square format gives you a bit more canvas to work with. Happy Independence Day for those in the US

@Mabel U Have you confirmed that? I had thought it did not work that way? I will try it when I get back to my computer. Getting ready to play golf with my son. ⛳

@Benjamin Rathgeber thanks, so it just needs to be less than a minute.
YouTube Shorts
I have been posting youtube shorts at various times throughout the day and notice a huge difference in engagement if I posted after 4 pm my local time. My engagement prior to that early afternoon slot was significantly reduced. Has anyone else seen any patterns emerge when you post shorts?

@Christina Dillon The shorts have really been helping with views and watch times. I was surprised by how much watch time can be added with an 8-10 second video watch 3,000 times. Plus huge increase in subscriptions. My audience is different that what I started out doing but I was ready for a change so now I have it

@Griffin A. Hamilton Agreed. I am just using it relative to my timezone. I have definitely seen a huge difference doing it before 4 pm especially in the morning 6-10 am. I have 5 to post today so just waiting a few more hours to continue to test my non scientific theory
Read This Before You Post
Hello, friend! It's nice to see you in the Synthesizer School! This community provides a ton of value for Content Creators and Consultants if used wisely. However, valuable posts can be lost in the storm of not thoroughly prepared ones. To keep the quality of the content high we advise you to follow these guidelines BEFORE you post anything. 1. Learn how to use the Search bar. Many questions related to content creation, sales, marketing, social media: YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, self-development and AI (especially AI) have already been answered and discussed in detail. Instead of posting a new question, try finding an already created discussion. 2. Engage in conversations over posting before you reach Level 3. Take @Corey Bennett Boardman as an example, who has the most points, which he got mostly through the comment section. 3. Use DMs to ask precise questions to those whom you're willing to learn from. 4. Get inspired by Andrew's posts. To get an idea of what a quality post is, check what @Andrew Kirby posts. This is a blueprint of quality content. 5. Provide value through meaningful posts. It can be a: • list of valuable resources for Synthesizers, • an Obsidian «second brain», • an offer to provide personal advice free of charge, • a message of genuine support, • a summary of an event, • an actionable advice, • a detailed question that resonates with the audience

@Griffin A. Hamilton I was sort of imagining @Aryan Kalra seeing someone who is posted about something related and she could be DM that person. I am starting to get the distinct impression at this project is getting much more involved then originally intended. I hope the powers that be find a way to simplify it and address the single issue of the types and quality of posts that are desirable for this community. I'm gonna stand down for now.

@Fedor Favorsky I think our illustrious leader, @Andrew Kirby would tell us all to just get it up and tweak it later as you get real life input. We can't know all that we don't know until we see how newbie's interact with it and whether it improves the types of posts they post. I say, pin it. Let's hear from him directly.
