Just wanted to share a short clip from class where we did a kicking drill I didn't think I'd be able to do at 45 years of age and 2.5 years of learning martial arts. We did 20 sets of this per leg (1 set is a front kick, roundhouse and hook kick) and some extra while moving forwards. A huge thanks to Andre's FlexTheory for helping me to build a mind-body connection and strength to my glutes, hamstrings, and my glute-hamstring junction so far. I've done FT for a little over 6 weeks now. This has given me greater balance, more opened hips (I've still got way more to go in that department), and the ability to change directions quicker. Keep flexing hard, everyone! I get excited when I read and see your progress!

I feel like my nervous system resists and is trying to “keep me safe” when I am trying to get into deeper ranges of motion: what do you guys do to facilitate your nervous system into saying it’s OK?
High roundhouse kicks possible at 49?
Hi! Just started karate and Muay Thai and realized how tight, locked, and weak my hips are!!! And I thought I’d be somewhat decent after training and playing basketball for over 30 years!! With the help of this community and program, I’d love to be able to roundhouse efficiently and powerfully one day!!!
