I know I am postIng quite a bit but ….
Good morning again gentlemen, You know being on this journey has made more aware of not just people’s clothing, their style, but also their actions, demeanor, and their character as a whole. The one thing that I noticed and I am embarrassed to say I have been guilty of this, is the lack of genuine politeness and greetings towards people. I see this behavior more and more and it really bothers me, that we tend to not greet one another anymore. I see people walk by each other and not even acknowledge their presence. What happened to the days of greeting people? I am not saying that you have to greet each and every person that you see on a crowded street. But people will not even acknowledge their presence of the person right in front of them or when the are walking through a door, they will walk right past a person and look straight ahead as if they they not even see the person in front of them or off to the side of them. There was a time when men acknowledged a lady by the tipping of the hat, a greeting of the day, for men a simple smile and a nod of their head, something. We have taught our men and especially young men that you have to be hard and show no emotion or gesture towards anyone especially another man. Now men only greet women if they want something from them a number, a date, or lord for bid something other. They only greet other men if it is someone they know. Is it really that difficult to be courteous and greet people? And who knows you might just give that person who is having a bad day hope. So gentlemen, let’s start a trend , let’s start being more cognitive of greeting people and especially giving a proper and cordial greeting. I know you some are thinking one person is not gong to make a difference, but if you as one person does and each of us as one person does this can become infectious. And sometimes by taking that initiative, you are bringing awareness to others of their actions and their lack of being cordial. Will you take this challenge and join me. I Would love to hear what your feedback is after the holiday’s, how this went for you. Even if you are already doing this, join this challenge and be more engaging with people and let’s see if we of the RMRS Community can make a difference.

I’m in. Here in the South, it’s a part of the culture. So it has always felt natural for me to at least acknowledge people I come into contact with.
Found this fountain pen on Amazon for 40% off!
I found this fountain pen 🖋️ for almost half off and I was not sure what it would look like and be worth it. So far it far exceeds my expectations! The nice wood grain, solid metal pieces not plastic. Excellent weight, and writes exceptionally well. A total win, win! Great professional look and already received so many compliments on it. And trust me when you pull out a fountain pen to sign something the level of respect you receive is astounding.

@Anthony Buntyn it’s a pleasure to share my interests here with you all. I tend to use fountain pens more when I’m spending an extended time writing, as opposed to jotting down a quick note.
My Return to Literature
G'Day Gents, instead of my weekly OOTD I decided to share something profoundly personal with you all, So last year during the worst time of my life, I went from being an agnostic man to a fully religious man, and in accordance with my religious doctrine I'm required to take the time to read at least 1 book or passage of text three times a year, with the Christmas season (First Day of Advent or December 1st to December 25th) being one of those times. I should disclose that whilst I've always been a massive reader of Non-Fiction, not since I was 12 had I taken a genuine interest in reading any sort of Fiction book (inc. Poetry) due to having the love of reading Fiction sapped from me upon the completion of a genuinely terrible work of Fiction. However, as an adult I'm on a mission to rediscover my love for reading Fiction books. So far I've just finished reading Ernest Hemingway's In Our Time (7.5/10) and I'm currently reading Raymond Chandler's Killer in the Rain (8/10 thus far), and earlier this year (despite in being a non-fiction book) I read James Sherwood's book on Savile Row (10/10). I plan on reading a few more books before the end of Christmas season such as Ernest Hemingway's For Whom the Bells Toll, Edgar Allan Poe's the Raven and possibly the King James version of the Holy Bible. With all that said I want to know who are some of your favourite authors and/or books? For me Enid Blyton, Roald Dahl, Banjo Paterson, William Shakespeare and the Brother's Grimm were and still are some of my favourite authors/writers growing up, as are J.K. Rowling (Harry Potter), C.S. Lewis (The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe), Charles Dickens (A Christmas Carol) and J.R.R. Tolkien (The Lord of the Rings & The Hobbit) just to name a few. Since reading In Our Time and Killer in the Rain, I've grown extremely fond of both Ernest Hemingway and Raymond Chandler respectively, especially regarding their writing/narrative styles and I look forward to reading more of their books in the future. I'm also looking forward to reading books from the likes of F. Scott Fitzgerald, Dick Francis and George Orwell, as well as read numerous philosophy and theology books to help me gain a better understanding of the world from many different perspectives.

A Separate Peace by John Knowles is my favorite book. I read it in high school, and it’s been my favorite ever since. Iron John by Robert Bly is a great book for men. John Steinbeck is also near the top of my list.
I was totally surprised
So the other day I had to take my wife for an out patient procedure and once I got her home and I knew that she was going to be groggy from the procedure, I knew that there was some things that we needed from the store. I knew that we only needed a couple of things and I wanted to get them before that thanksgiving last minute rush. What I did not want to do was go to Walmart or Kroger because I knew the lines would be massive. I knew that there was a Big Star Neighborhood Store not too far from me and I had never been in there before just driving by it a could have times going places. Now this was my first time going in this place and I have seen not a lot of traffic coming in and out of this store. But I will tell you this, when I walked in I saw a young man moving some shopping carts and he had on some jeans, a white shirt and a black tie, Now my first thought was, “ wow he’s young to be a manager.” I noticed all of the men working there had on shirts and ties. I was totally blown away! The store was nicely kept and the employees were dressed appropriately in ties even the ladies looked somewhat decent in their attire. My point is this, it made my shopping experience there pleasurable and they were very respectful. I told my wife when she was more awake about my experience there. I told my wife that I would definitely be shopping there just because of the appearance and the experience that I received there. Just seeing the establishment having a dress code for the employees was refreshing and I believe this also effected the way the employees interacted with the customers.

I worked at Barnes & Noble for several years. When I first started the dress code for men was white shirt, navy pants, and tie. To my disappointment, the dress code was relaxed a couple of years later.

@Anthony Buntyn I always felt like it affected the way both employees and customers acted towards each other.

I love reading, writing, men's style and grooming. Pocket knives, fragrances, and watches are some of my biggest hobbies.
