Is high protein overhyped?
Asking for a friend 😅 When did protein become the main character and fiber get ignored? Also, notice how we go in cycles..I remember the Atkins and South Beach Diet phase in the 2000's..and here we are again with the carnivore diet.. What do you think?

There are no health issues from a lack of protein!?

@Erin Norwood could be a few reasons for that! 🤷‍♀️
Six Years, and Grateful
Six years ago, I was recovering from cancer surgery. I had been diagnosed just weeks earlier, and everything moved so fast that there was barely time to catch my breath. It was shocking, disorienting, and honestly surreal. One moment you are living your normal life, and the next, you are learning a whole new vocabulary you never asked to know. This week, six years later, my latest scan came back clear. I wanted to share this here because I know many of us are struggling in different ways. Sometimes it feels big and heavy. Other times it is quieter, like trying to eat a little better, wanting more energy, or wishing our bodies felt more supported than they do right now. I know it can be tempting to wonder whether the effort really matters. For me, I truly believe it does. I was already eating well when I was diagnosed, and everything I did before and after became part of my healing journey. Not as a guarantee or a shield from life, but as a foundation. Eating whole food plant-based, moving my body, prioritizing sleep, learning how to reduce stress. These were not quick fixes. They were daily acts of care, repeated over time. That is why these are the foundations of what I teach. Not because they are trendy, or perfect, or easy, but because I have lived them. And I have seen, in my own life and in so many others, that when you have strong foundations, people can weather an incredible amount. So if you are showing up imperfectly, making small changes, choosing nourishment more often than not, please know that it matters. It always does. Today, I am healthy, grateful, and clear of disease. And I am deeply thankful for the body that carried me here, and for the simple practices that supported me along the way. 💛

Where do you get your tortillas?
I want to make freezer burritos, but I can't seem to find healthy tortillas or wraps. Everything I see in stores has shortening or a number of processed oils in them. I asked chatgpt to help me find healthy tortillas and it came up with some organic and/or whole wheat options including Food for Life, Siete, Mission, La Tortilla Factory, and Trader Joe's. BUT I can't find those near me 😅. Food for Life and Siete tend to fall apart on me. And then I saw Target had a decent looking option, but apparently they've been helping 🧊 so that's a no for me. Will I need to make my own burrito size tortillas from scratch? Or just suck it up and eat a bit of shortening tortilla. Let me know what you do!

It is just as bad inn the UK - no healthy ones. I keep watching videos of people making them out of lentils... no idea how they would freeze though 🤔
