Team Juice or Team Smoothie? 🧃🥕🍍
Both have a real place in a whole food plant-based lifestyle, and honestly I love them both for different reasons. And just to be clear, when I say juice I'm talking about fresh pressed vegetable and fruit juices like celery juice, green juice, beet juice, and carrot juice, not the bottled stuff or a glass of OJ from concentrate! Fresh juice is like a fast pass for your cells. Because the fiber is removed, your body can absorb all those concentrated vitamins and minerals almost immediately. It's a great choice when you want to: 🥕 Flood your body with nutrients without taxing your digestion 🥕 Give your gut a little rest 🥕 Support your body in reducing inflammation Smoothies are different, and why I usually choose these over juices. You keep all the fiber, which means steady energy, better digestion, and something that actually keeps you full. They're also the easiest way to pack in greens, seeds, and plant protein without even thinking about it. Smoothies are great when you want to: 🍍Stabilize your blood sugar and avoid that mid-morning crash 🍍Feed your gut microbiome 🍍Have something filling enough to count as a real meal Neither one is better than the other. I've been taking advantage of the beautiful weather we've been having this weekend. Yesterday my husband and I walked almost 2 hours at a state park in Pennsylvania. Lots of movement this weekend! It feels so good after hibernating this winter. What are up to today?

Tea beat Coffee...finally
I've been falling into the infamous bad habit of having a coffee at like 3PM which contributes to that well known crash. I am so proud of myself today, I made a ginger tea instead! I use the actual root. [I'm not a fan of teas in bags] What is your go to afternoon drink these days?
