Lowering LDL Cholesterol
Russ, Would doing your longer Pilates class help towards lowering cholesterol? I know that diet is important, too. I am a little over on my numbers, but my HDL level is good. I know this isn't cardio but as opposed to sitting would a longer Pilates session help with this? Thanks & hope you've been doing well.

Never heard of that. I like those, too. Thanks for sharing, Russ!
Intro
Hey there! I haven't introduced myself, but I joined a while back and have been slowly adding the beginner course workouts to my routine. I started looking into pilates last fall and been trying what seems like a million different teachers and types of pilates from classical to contemporary to fusions to see what feels best in my body and resonates with me. I've been a massage therapist for 27 years and its taken a toll on me physically (mostly elbows and wrists) but I limit my daily treatments and incorporate different modalities where I can. I am also 47 years old and perimenopausal and experience some diffuse joint pain, not debilitating by any means, but enough that I notice it. So I've been seeking out new forms of movement that don'tstress me but also help keep me strong and mobile, especially in my spine! So grateful to be here! Lesley

@Russ Walker Thanks, Russ. My schedule is going back more to normal starting this next week. Thankfully! So I will be slowly building back up again. In the peak of painting, I found myself really benefiting from some neck roll downs!
Saturday Zoom Recording 🎥
Here's the link to today's live mixed ability session. Shouldn't need any equipment. Some tough options and a couple of advanced options thrown in too 💪 just for fun of course. https://us02web.zoom.us/rec/share/86rUazoNI59ipabT_Y9qmsVhoprIkWYry1Fw2IPsO1XM5VFU2-CWoO_pEa1cZgAN.z42LTyfrdV-4x1mF Passcode: FPq8e^U7 Enjoy, and have a great weekend! Can't wait till I can be more regular with my Pilates. My schedule is wonky with repairing our house. I have been painting. Sure feel it in my muscles.
Magnesium
@Russ Walker a quick question. I remember you saying you took a magnesium supplement, curious to know what type and where from if you don't mind?

I have been reading that it is good for women to take for hormonal changes leading up to menopause. I don't know if guys need it more in later years, too. I don't want to over do the magnesium though so I try to take it every other day and not do too many. When you ask a naturopath it seems like they aren't that worried about overdosing. My natuopath told me that not all magnesium sources are the same. I take magnesium complex. It has magnesium citrate, magnesium glycinate, magnesium malate, and magnesium (as krebs cycle), and malic acid. Apparently, our foods don't have enough magnesium in them anymore. That's what I've heard. Not sure how that would be!

I live on a small ranch with my teenage son and husband. We are trying to make fitness be a priority in our family. (Pilates & outside chores.)
