New life
I’m 65 years old and was suffering from lack of sleep, pains all over, all the itis(es) tendinitis, bursitis etc. I didn’t recognize that person in the mirror. So, after much nagging from my daughter, I decided to do something about myself. So here I am. Slowly learning and practicing a new habit to extend my life and get Melanie to stop nagging🤭 just kidding, it has been a learning curve and I’m happy I decided to get on board. I live in Cuba and it’s difficult to find food including fruits and vegetables. But I’m going to keep at it, maybe I’ll fall off the wagon at times, but I’m certainly going to get back up

I have a quick question for you👇 Is there anything holding you back from introducing yourself to the group? 🟢 Is it discomfort? 🟢 Does it seem useless? 🟢 Are you the type of person that prefers to sit on the sideline and watch? There are no wrong or dumb answers. I genuinely want to know! This is a safe place for you to share your wins, challenges, and experiences ❤️ And making an intro can be the catalyst for change. Every action creates a reaction from someone in this amazing community. Take advantage of it. I made this for you! ✌️ I challenge you to make your introduction today!!!

I’m extremely shy, just read after the fact
Hello!
I’m Melanie from Toronto. I’m a mom of two little ones and I want to set a good example for them. I’m tired of feeling so tired and I’ve been doing this on my own, so why not give it a try with extra community support. I’m also trying to get back into it from after the holidays and feeling particularly crappy from all my poor life decisions in the past two weeks. Here’s to moving forward!

I’m Melanie’s mom, I know how hard it is managing her children in their daily lives, trying to give them nutritious home made meals, lunch prep, going to extra curricular activities, taking care of hubby and me (she worries about me all the time) and works full time (at times 12 hour shifts). I’m so proud of her, she’s the best daughter ever. Yes, she struggles sometimes but she needs to understand that everything takes time, go easier on herself for the times she’s not following the plan perfectly but get back on track and know that she’s got this. I know her strength and will power, never doubt that they’re always around just hiding behind unnecessary guilt PS. I promise to give you less trouble, wouldn’t it be nice to look like Darren’s mom PSS. Melanie is the best mother any child could wish for, and she didn’t learn it from me
Special Appreciation Post 🧡 My Mom
The lady who shaped my moral compass. The lady who worked 3 jobs after migrating to Canada. The lady who sang me bedtime songs every night (I can still hear them vividly) The lady who had 3 boys but never made any of them feel less or more than the other (that’s a powerful quality). Everything ended with “I love you”. Not everyone has the same blessing as I did — and I don’t take that lightly. So, for me to be able to give back and guide her and my dad into a healthier body… that’s a dream. That’s my duty as a son. We watched her and my dad's parents pass early from frailty, cancer, and obesity. I’m trying to make my parents see that although it’s common, it’s not normal. 📷 Photo timeline: 👉 2018: Probably the heaviest I’ve seen her. This is when she visited my wife and I and we went on a cruise around Asia. 👉 2021: Hyperthyroidism hit. She lost a lot of weight, but not in the healthy way. Muscle loss was apparent too. She felt chronically low in energy. Went on meds. 👉 Jan 2024: She visited me in BKK. She put back a lot of her weight. I taught her how to track food, I showed her how to train. She kept walking. 👉 Jan 2025: She visited again— totally different person. She trains 3x/week, does Zumba & sauna, and she can eyeball food now. Completely off the meds (if I'm not mistaken) I’m just lucky my ASIAN parents listen to me 😆 If you have parents whom you wish took care of themselves better, lead by example first. That’s the best you can do. Don’t let your own kids wish the same thing for you ❤️❤️ Age ain’t shit! Proud of you @Mary Liu
