Drop a šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø Everytime You Use It
Start your morning with intention. 3 minutes. One breath at a time. This week, I’m challenging you to make breathwork a non-negotiable part of your morning routine. The full video is 5 minutes, but I’m only asking for 3. That’s it. Three minutes to remind yourself that you can control your body through your breath. I’ll be doing this every single day while I’m on the treadmill yes, it makes it harder, but that’s the point. The more we practice controlling our breath under pressure, the more powerful we become in every moment that matters. Here’s what I need from you: Drop the šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø emoji in the comments every time you complete at least 3 minutes. Every. Single. Day. This week. Or multiple times a day. The more repetitions, the better. Let’s build this habit together. Your body, your mind, your day it all starts with your breath. Drop a if you’re in? šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø

@Tunji Adebayo today was a swimming day so it was 20 laps of 1 second in the mouth, 5 seconds out the nose….. a little different šŸ˜‚ But I’ll try the 4-4 with my yoga instead of a 5-5 tonight.

@Tunji Adebayo I haven’t been using the video because I’m already watching a video for yoga and my workouts. I just count in my head ā€œin, 2, 3, 4, out, 2, 3, 4ā€¦ā€ It requires me to be in the moment the entire time. No mind wandering, hence the challenge. lol It’s much easier with yoga because those are night time yoga flow videos and I’m often in a single pose for 3-10 breaths. It was the same challenge to do a 4-4, as a 5-5. But the morning workouts …..😬. It is HARD! I am often wanting to breathe faster or resisting the urge to yawn because I’m still waking up in the morning. Lol
Internalization: My Quote/Poem of the Week
This one is compliments of Danielle and I’ve never heard it before but it’s beautifully written and powerful. I look forward to the journey it takes me on as I memorize and internalize it. If anybody has any great poems or quotes please drop them in the comments

Felt Inspired so I made this for you
Felt inspired to make this earlier this week. I just felt that I was in a unique position to deliver a lot of value for graduation speakers using the 4S framework, and I think this is something that will age well and bless a lot of people. Right now this webinar is in the Art of Speaking Course(with the NEXT STEPS you need to apply it), but I wanted to drop it here so you would get it as well. Hope it blesses you as much as I was blessed by making it. Enjoy because I think I cooked.

šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„ I would’ve loved to hear your speech! No offence to whoever did mine, but I didn’t know them and have zero memory of it soooo…. Apparently not that memorable. 😬 This would be extremely helpful for someone who needs to write an engaging speech! Not just for a graduate but for any of the staff that plan to talk as well. I’ve been to many graduations and some drag on and on with boring speaker after boring speaker. This also would’ve been helpful for me for wedding speeches too! I’ve been the emcee at a handful of weddings and it was always super fun, but having this would’ve been very helpful to have to go along with my jokes! šŸ˜‚ *Also, how does this ā€˜seasoned’ man look the same as that guy in the still shot? (Asking for someone’s whose grad is pre-YouTube and probably on a VHS somewhere in somebody’s Grandma’s basement)
Shifting the Light
How do I speak with confidence when networking or meeting someone new?

šŸ™ Thank you! This was a fun watch and informative for me! I have mad skills at creating connections with kids, it’s so easy to light them up! I haven’t put much thought into doing it with adults, so these questions are great! I think the unique questions, and uniquely phrased questions, are such a great tool because they catch the person slightly off guard and they have to think about how to answer, which creates a more authentic response. We can’t give a prepackaged answer to an outside the box question. When meeting with parents for intakes I used to ask them what their goals for their child are, but I think that is simultaneously too big and too generic. Now I like to ask ā€œif I gave you a magic wand (and I hold out my pen to them) and you could say ā€˜by this time next year my child will….’ How would you answer that question? What would progress look like to you? Go ahead and make a wish!ā€ They think about it and give really insightful responses. Not just ā€˜better communication, better social skills’ they say things like ā€˜he will have a friend that would want to come and play at our house. She will get invited to a birthday party. We can get through a whole day without a tantrum.’ These are meaningful responses. These also let me know what is missing in a real world context. A delay in language is obvious and has fairly similar treatment for most people, but how it is affecting their quality of life is as individual as the person. Thanks for these ideas! šŸ™ Eșe
What sticks out to you?
"I've Been To The Mountaintop" — Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. One of my favorite speeches of all time. Transformative. Musical. And every time I study it, three things hit me straight in the chest: 1. The pauses. The patience. The discipline to slow down so the idea can land before the emotion takes over. 2. The repetition.ā€œSomewhere I readā€¦ā€ ā€œSomewhere I readā€¦ā€ The intentional echo that builds power, meaning, and momentum. 3. The emotion. He felt this from his soul. And you can feel that he felt it. That’s The Art of Speaking With Confidence — not performing confidence, but expressing what you deeply believe. The skill is the pacing. The mastery is the repetition. But the heart is speaking about things you truly care about. What stuck out to you from this speech?Drop it in the comments — I want to learn from your eye.

I echo everything you mentioned. I also like that his message is clear. Direct. Easy to follow. That is no easy feat when discussing complicated subject matter. But even in using clever metaphor and cadence, the content is still something almost anyone can follow. You don’t need a degree, or to know any special terminology. He spoke about something that affects everyone in a way that everyone can understand. That is also a measure of a great speaker. To speak wisely, without alienating others by sounding ā€˜too smart’.

I am a connector! I love building relationships. I love language and its power to connect us. I also value and use communication in non-verbal forms.
