My fitness journey part 4
When I was 60, my doctor put me on statins, first 10 mgs which was ok, then she updated them to 20mgs. Well my muscles were ripping, aching & I developed tendonitis I was in pieces. I trawled the Internet for answers & went to a chiropractor who did a great job fixing me up. I learned from my colleagues & watched Squat University to try & prevent farther damage & educatie myself. I stopped taking statins & it took 2 years to feel better again. I'm 63 now & I'm built differently.
My fitness journey part 3
When I left the forces after 22 years, I became a bus driver. I still tried to keep up my fitness & joined the AthleanX program. It was going well until I damaged my achilles heel doing some of the exercises, incidentally it took 18 months to heal. On the positive side, I taught myself to swim at 50 while I was recovering with the TI swimming videos. Big thank you to Terry RIP.
My fitness journey part 2
After being repeatedly laid off work, I joined HMS forces, where I smashed the fitness assessment with press ups, chin ups, dips etc. However, when it came to endurance running, I struggled to get into a rhythm as I'd left school years earlier. It came later thankfully. I then kept myself reasonably fit but the forces was a very socially alcohol driven environment back in the day.

My fitness journey part 1
Hello everyone, here's a few snap shots of my life so far. I was good at cross country at school, however I didn't take after my older brother for gymnastics, much to my sports teachers disbelief. I left school & worked as a labourer on building sites. On the suggestion of one of my fellow workers, I obtained 2 copper bars from a factory & along with some body weight exercises did every exercise I could think of. I was 17, 5'11" & 9 stone! Whatever I did, it worked a treat. Two of my fellow workers tried lifting a rock boulder with their bulging muscles covered in tattoos. After failing miserably, they jokingly told me to try. I lift it over my head numerous times like it was nothing. So they tried & failed again only to further humiliate themselves & told me to do it again in case it was a fluke. So I did effortlessly.
