I facilitated my first workshop!
I manage a 1400 head goat dairy with 9 employees. I switched our normal monthly meeting where I do all of the talking to an LDJ. The team decided on issue, created a solution and by the end of the day they completed the actions steps to make it happen. And of course their main issue was something I did not expect. Some folks were a bit reluctant in the beginning of the session but at the very end everyone wanted to jump into the next HMW question. We are definitely going to be running more of these! Thank you @Aj Smart for the fundamentals course and this community for your experience. We’re hooked!

I also want to mention the ICEBREAKER I used. Since we all have worked together and have known each for a while, I thought I would ask a fun but slightly vulnerable question: “What is a fashion trend that you participated in that you are embarrassed about now?” It went over really well. We are all pretty funny so had some laughs poking fun at ourselves. I got the question from a card deck from ‘The Unstuck Box’ company. I think the deck was called ‘Conversation Starters’ or ‘Team Building’, I can’t remember. Lots of good questions to use in those decks. And their Mental Model deck is good too!

@Amanda Witman thank you. It’s definitely a labor of love.
Books to build your marketing, advertising, and communication skills!
In case you missed the community call today, Jon dropped some GREAT books that can inspire us as we navigate our facilitation journey! Check them out here 👇 - Traffic Secrets by Russell Brunson - Cashvertising by Drew Eric Whitman - Made to Stick by Chip and Dan Heath If you've read any of them, feel free to share your knowledge and insights with us!! Happy Reading 📚🥳

If you really want to power through these titles, most of the books mentioned in this thread are on Shortform. Their summaries are good and really give you the meat and potatoes on the topic. You can always dive in deeper with the actual book. But for those procrastinators out there… ;)
📍Where is everyone from?📍
Hello Facilitators👋 I'm really curious about where everyone is from. I'd love to make this a mega post where we can see how diverse the Facilitator Club community is. Who knows, you might find a lot more people in your area than you thought! Once I have lots of answers on this post, I want to make a nice graph!

Facilitation sounds like an exciting way to become involved in solving problems outside of my wheelhouse. I love the idea of being the guide not hero.
