How's everyone's store looking heading into December?
Hey everyone, We're almost at December (just a few days left in November), so I'm curious how things are shaping up for you all as we head into what should be the peak sales period. Have your sales, revenue, and clicks picked up recently, or is it still a bit quiet? Are you seeing the Christmas momentum building yet, or are customers still just browsing? What are your expectations for December? Are you anticipating a big spike in the coming weeks, steady growth, or are you keeping expectations realistic? Would love to hear what patterns you're seeing, what numbers you are experiencing and whether things are ramping up as expected!

I started to see things really pick up around the second week of November. So far on over 3k+ revenue since the start of November. Would be pretty happy with those sorts of numbers again for December but we will see. Unsure how much more this will spike heading into December, as this is my first Christmas since doing Etsy. Like Callum I had a weird drop in sales over the weekend last week but seems to have picked back up to normal again!
New YouTube Video Live!
Hey guys, Will have 3 YouTube videos going up every week from now on 🄳 For newer sellers especially they will be very useful :) This one for example goes through the different poster sizes, which ones scale with each other etc Feel free to check it out!

Super happy to see this! Hopefully will help newer sellers as we do get a lot of repeats of the same sorts of questions!

@Victoria Briggs say you sell an A5 poster on Etsy for Ā£10.99 (just an example, you can set your own prices how you see fit but I would recommend keeping prices fairly competitive whilst you start out), you pay printshrimp Ā£4.99 to print and ship it for you. Any money left over after Etsy fees is your profit. When you start out Etsy may put an account reserve on your shop so it takes longer for your funds to be payable to you so it is worth noting that this is not a get rich quick scheme. It’s useful to have some funds to pay out at the beginning until you get some momentum, same as any business starting out really. I was at a loss for the first month or two but now making around 1k give or take in profit a month. But yes, you do have to pay printshrimp to do their part, you can’t get something for nothing :)

@Victoria Briggs it should be covered in the classroom videos 😊 once you’ve got one listing up you can just copy that listing to create a new one with all the same attributes (and just change the title, tags, photos etc). But yeah, definitely go back over the classroom videos and find where Tom goes through setting up a listing correctly!
Permanently banned!
Hi guys, I hope I find you well. I’ve had a notification today telling me my account has been permanently banned due to intellectual policing violations. I create posters around sporting stadiums and it’s a very popular thing. Many accounts do the same as me and they’ve been doing it for 7 years +. Does anyone have any advice? Can I get my account back?

The Etsy system is unfair, no doubt. It’s best to steer clear of anything that could result in an IP infringement, just because other shops have gotten away with it for so long doesn’t mean it won’t eventually catch up to them, but frustrating for sure when others go on for years and still have a successful store. I too have put up posters in the past that could be done for IP infringement, and I had them up for 6 months with no strike or warning against my account. But I took down those designs last week because I realised it’s not worth the risk of having my shop shut down. Better to play by the rules and have a long term sustainable store rather than risk it and never be able to open a store again. I do feel for you though, it does suck
Help
Morning everyone, I would just like to ask if it’s possible if we could put a video up of what we’re saving and how to do it in Canva; what I mean is that how to save my files? Do I save it as a PDQ a PDF ; where do I go to resize? Is it just a custom make?and also when I’m doing the different sizes do I save it as each individual item or do I do it as a add a page and do it in different sizes and then save it. does that make sense and then save it all, I know this seems like completely simple to some people, but I’m a little bit of a technophobe and I’m dyslexic and I have to learn by physically watching something, Thanks so much

@Nicky Pemberton no, it won’t affect the size/dimensions of the image. It’ll just increase the number of pixels in the image making the image clearer and sharper. I always slide the pixels to max :)
