Best Cardio For Fat Loss?
Is all cardio created equal? Absolutely not... And the style of cardio that you choose will depend heavily on your ultimate goal for the cardio - if it's purely fat loss, there IS a specific way to do cardio that will burn the majority of calories from fat while preserving muscle. What is that type of cardio, you may ask? Well, the answer might surprise you. Low intensity, steady state cardio - and specifically walking on a very high incline. It can be a fairly brisk pace, but this type of cardio favors fat stores as fuel, as opposed to high intensity cardio (like HIIT), which relies much more on carbs/glycogen for fuel. The downside to doing this type of cardio is that it can definitely take a longer period of time to burn a bunch of calories, but the calories burned will almost entirely come from your stored fat - which is what most people are looking for. Obviously, the higher intensity cardio burns more calories in a shorter period of time and is great for the heart and cardiovascular system, so it absolutely has it's place - but if you are purely looking to lose fat, a walk on the treadmill with the incline maxed out is the way to go. Hey Steve... What about Calories in/Calories Out (CICO)?? Great question! High intensity cardio will burn more calories, but if you are in a caloric deficit and losing weight, High Intensity Cardio can increase muscle protein breakdown and elevate cortisol, which can accelerate muscle catabolism in a calorie deficit. Which means yes, you could lose weight, but you might be sacrificing hard earned muscle tissue instead of just losing the fat. This is the exact type of cardio that I am currently using to recomposition my body - I'm looking to keep as much muscle as humanly possible, while stripping the fat. What have you guys found to be the most effective form of cardio in your experience?

Best cardio for me is on the assault bike. 2 mins steady state (heart rate to around 110 - 120) with 1min active recovery, for 10 mins.
Peptides or NO?
Here's the question I have for you guys - based on a lot of back and forth I've seen on social media about the subject: For men over 40, is using peptides a smart way to extend performance - or do you consider it a form of "cheating"? Drop your opinions in the comments.

If I could get TRT, I'd be onto it in a flash. I'm researching The wolverine peptides now, a lot of scammers out there. Here's another one to look up Mot.c, I think it's called.
The Insulin Spike Myth
So annoying! Every day it seems I see another article or social media post saying “insulin makes you fat” or “carbs spike insulin so they go straight to fat.” Complete and utter BS. Here’s the reality: - Insulin is a transport hormone. It shuttles nutrients into muscle, liver, and fat cells. It doesn’t automatically decide, “Let’s get fat today.” - Carbs don’t turn into fat unless you’re in a caloric surplus. If you’re burning more than you take in, insulin spikes won’t make you store fat. PERIOD. - The real issue is chronic overeating combined with low muscle mass and poor insulin sensitivity. That’s when insulin becomes a problem. - Muscle changes everything. More muscle = more storage space for carbs as glycogen, better insulin sensitivity, and less chance of spillover into fat. - You NEED carbs for fuel. And the appropriate amount of carbs eaten with protein, will help you build muscle much faster than relying protein alone. So the question isn’t “Do carbs make me fat?” The question is “Am I strong enough, lean enough, and disciplined enough for my body to handle carbs the right way?” Insulin isn’t your enemy. Your lack of discipline is. Build the muscle, tighten the diet, and use carbs as fuel - not as an excuse.

I agree with everything you said. I will add (everyone needs to do their own research) there are two fuel systems to put it simply - glycogen and fats. Glycogen is used in muscles and stored in the liver and is the easiest fuel to burn. An over abundance of Glycogen keeps insulin high and fat cells love insulin.
TRT and Testosterone: Why Men 40+ Can’t Ignore This
Low testosterone is one of the biggest silent killers of energy, drive, and masculinity after 40. Here’s what low T looks like - and I personally experienced all of these to some degree: - Constant fatigue, even when you sleep. - Soft body, belly fat piling on. - Weak muscle tone and slower recovery. - Low sex drive and poor performance. - Brain fog, low confidence, and even depression. - Increased risk of heart disease Testosterone isn’t just about building muscle — it’s your vitality hormone. When it crashes, everything from your physique to your mindset suffers. 👉 Recommendation: If you’re over 40, get your levels checked. Don’t guess. A simple blood test will tell you where you stand. - “Normal” ranges aren’t enough. You want optimal, not average. - If your levels are low, TRT (Testosterone Replacement Therapy) may be worth a discussion with a qualified doctor. When I got my levels checked in my early 40's, I was shocked at how low they were. There were a variety of reasons for this... Fortunately, I had a great doctor who specialized in hormone replacement therapy and did all the additional testing so that she could really optimize my levels - not just get to the minimum. The difference in 3 weeks was night an day - I felt like a new man. This isn’t about vanity — it’s about reclaiming your edge, your strength, and your drive. Question for the group: Have you had your testosterone levels tested recently? If yes, where were your numbers? If not, what’s stopping you?

TRT is highly regulated here in Australia. Hardly anyone can get it. I wood get on to it in a flash.

Yeah that's the problem, you don't know what you're getting if you go unregulated.
Peptides - The Wolverine Stack - BPC 157 & TB 500
A bit over a year go, ago I tore up my shoulder pretty bad training Muay Thai in Thailand. Apparently, at 53, I don't hold up like I used to. 🤷 I tore the infraspinatus, supraspinatus, labrum, and the glenohumeral ligament. Basically the whole thing was trashed. The VA doctors went back and forth about whether surgery was needed. I want to stay as far away from surgery as possible - and I'll give the orthos at the Houston VA hospital a lot of credit. Usually, surgeons just want to cut, but these guys understood me wanting to keep surgery as the absolute last resort. So I started physical therapy - and that's the cool thing about Mexico... I found a top notch guy who works with athletes and it only cost me about $17 per 90 minute session. At the same time, I started running what’s called the Wolverine Stack - BPC-157 and TB-500, 250 mcg of each per day. The results blew me away. I healed faster at 53 than I did when I tore my other rotator cuff at 27. My physical therapist was actually shocked at the speed of recovery, especially for someone my age. With the combo of rehab work and the Wolverine Stack, I went from barely being able to move my arm to being back in the gym in less than 3 months. Today I’m at 100%. Dips were about the last exercise that I was able to do comfortably - the angle of putting my arm back like that caused me a lot of pain, but now I’m knocking out extended-range reps with a 45 lb plate around my waist. This is obviously not medical advice (that's my disclaimer), but for me, the difference was night and day. and the bonus was that other little nagging injuries and other bullshit healed up as well. My kneecaps used to hurt when I ran, but that isn't the case anymore. My elbows used to hurt during some exercises, like preacher curls, but they've stopped hurting as well. I've also found the hard way that with these in peptides particular, oral versions don't work anywhere near as well as the injectables. But don't worry - it's a sub q injection and you don't feel a thing. Let me know if you any questions... happy to answer.
