Opening a gym while building a Skool community has been an interesting experience.
Recently I opened a new gym, and alongside that I’ve been continuing to build my Skool community. What surprised me is how similar the two actually are. In both places people need three things: • Structure - clear direction on what to do • Accountability - someone paying attention to their progress • Leadership - someone setting the tone Information alone doesn’t keep people around. In the gym, people could easily Google workouts. Online people could easily Google fitness advice. What people stay for is guidance, progression, and a place where they feel part of something. Running both at the same time has made me realise that whether it's physical or online, a community grows when the leader is present and the mission is clear. Curious if anyone else here is building a Skool community alongside another business? What have you learned trying to balance both?

Bit of a builder update from me 👇
Since opening a new gym recently, things have been full on. Coaching, programming, content, members, long days. It’s been intense but in a good way. Over the last few months I’ve also been thinking a lot about direction. I’ve loved building FitDad Collective. The message, the mission, helping dads reclaim their health and confidence, that meant a lot to me and still does. But as my coaching has evolved and the way I train has evolved, it’s become clear that I’ve outgrown the original frame I put around it. My training now is more performance driven. More structure. More progression. Less about short phases and more about long term capability. So I’m going all in on a new direction. The new community will be called The Training Ground. It reflects how I coach now. Structured training. Real progression. Discipline without extremes. A place to build strength, fitness, resilience, and consistency properly. Not a hype challenge. Not a quick fix. Just people who want to improve and are willing to put the work in. Excited about this next chapter. Always interesting how communities evolve alongside the person building them. For anyone here who has rebranded or pivoted their Skool community, what did you learn during the transition?
Builder update 👋
Some of you might’ve seen me post before about FitDad Collective, which is a community I run helping dads rediscover their health, fitness, and confidence alongside real life and responsibilities. Over time though, something became really clear to me. A big part of what I do day to day as a full-time coach and nutritionist is helping people with fat loss, and not just the training side. The mindset, structure, habits, and sticking to a plan when motivation disappears. I kept getting messages from people who weren’t dads but were struggling with the same things: - Inconsistency - Confusion around calories and food - All-or-nothing thinking - Losing weight, then gaining it back So I decided to open a second community with a broader focus. That’s why I’ve just launched School of Fat Loss. Same principles. Same simple, sustainable approach. Just aimed at helping more people navigate fat loss properly without extremes. Still early days, but I’m excited about building it out and refining how I help people long-term. If you’re a Skool owner running multiple communities, I’d love to hear how you’ve structured them and what you’ve learned along the way 🤝

@Shannon Boyer thank you 🙌
Quick question for other Skool owners and builders 👇
When you’re running a community, working a job or business, and for some of you raising kids as well… How well do you actually stay on top of your own health and fitness? Not just short bursts of motivation, but week-in, week-out consistency. I’ve noticed that when training, steps, and nutrition slip, everything else feels harder. Focus drops. Patience drops. Energy drops. And it shows up in how you lead and communicate. On the flip side, when health is structured and non-negotiable, work feels lighter even when it’s busy. Curious to hear from others in here: - What’s the hardest part about staying consistent? - Time? Energy? Structure? - Or just putting yourself last? Always interested in how other community owners balance performance and real life.

Please Introduce Yourself
One of the most important things I've learned since becoming an online entrepreneur is that the most important thing you can do to grow your business is to build relationships. Many of us (myself included) have rushed to promote our groups and services that we care so deeply about. And it only makes sense - we are excited about what we are doing! Today, I'd like to invite you to take a step back and introduce yourself to the group by answering the following questions: 1. Who are you personally? 2. Who are you professionally? 3. What is something you love doing outside of work? 4. What is something surprising about you? As you open up and make more connections, you will find that not only are people more interested in what you do, but they will also be more interested in helping you make connections with other people they know! 😉 After you introduce yourself, please scroll through the other introductions and add a comment to someone you have something in common with or would like to know more about. 😊 Please add your introduction in the comments below! ⬇️

@Faith Adebayo thank you, i think the biggest shift would be how calm their minds become once we schedule their workouts and simplify their meals, after that it hits home how simple it can be with structure
