Rooted Daily Dose: “We Become What We Practice”
“Today, instead of asking ‘What do I want to be?’ we’re asking: What am I practicing? We are always practicing something—avoiding, rushing, people-pleasing, numbing, or, alternatively, boundaries, presence, truth-telling, or rest. Over time, repetition shapes our nervous system, our posture, our choices, and our identity. If we keep practicing old patterns, we get more of the same. If we practice new ways of being, slowly and imperfectly, we move toward the person we long to be.” More on this in the Rooted Daily Dose Course in the classroom Poll question: “Right now, what best describes your practice?”

I'm practicing daily something I know, in my heart and mind, my body, my nervous system, my energy system, my whole Being knows this. I've been practicing for 35 years. Started with Yoga, then Aikido, then Biofeedback/Neurofeedback, then HIKE4evolution. Real change comes by applying the willpower we develop through the discipline of daily practice to our goals and intentions-my teacher said this to me over and over. We could get super metaphysical about the kind of "power" we're cultivating when we practice intentionally and consciously, but we'll call it willpower. At first practicing was "hard" I had to make myself do it, I had a lot of pressure to do it, from my teachers and from myself. I'm so glad I stuck with it. The benefits are immeasurable. Where ever you are in your practice is where you need to be. Enjoy. Try not to pressure so much. Thank you for the question!!

Daily Soundtrack: "Teach your Children Well" Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
Seven years ago this month—February 5, 2019—my dad died. He was an amazing man that left a legacy of renewable energy innovations and community service. At his memorial, my very talented siblings (and me… not so talented 😊) sang this song together. I practiced for a long time. It mattered that I could stand there with them and offer my voice. This song carries so much history for us—siblings, family, the way values get passed down, the quiet instruction of how to live. I haven’t had much space to pause and think about him lately, but this morning I woke up missing him deeply. Sharing this feels like a small pause. A remembering. A way of teaching and being taught across generations. If you’re holding someone in your heart this month, you’re not alone. What song connects you to someone you love and miss? 🤍

Beautiful thoughts. Happy memories. These help me connect. Sorry you lost your dad. I lost my dad at age 12. A long life without a dad. I see Hawks and I know he's around.
Welcome to Hope Reimagined 🌱
I want to share a brief update and invitation as this space continues to take shape. This community was originally created as a home for the Rooted in Healing podcast. We’ve decided to pause the podcast for now, with the intention of revisiting it in the fall. Rather than closing this space, I felt it was important to keep what’s already growing here alive. Going forward, this community will live under the Hope Reimagined umbrella—a place for practice, reflection, and connection. What you can expect over time: - Community practice spaces (forest bathing, centering, somatic and embodied practices) - Opportunities to learn together in accessible ways - CEU-eligible offerings in the near future (I am a CEU provider) - A mix of free community content, with optional premium spaces for those seeking deeper connection and learning For now, this space is free, relational, and in emergence. Nothing here is finished—this is the beginning of something that will evolve with care, pacing, and integrity. Thank you for being part of this early chapter. Your presence helps shape what this becomes.

Life I Love School
https://www.lifeiloveschool.org I have the deep honor of supporting Life I Love School, a growing organization that is lifting up Black and Brown girls across the Bay Area. They are adding new school sites every month — the momentum is real. I support the team with training and curriculum development, but the true heart and visionary behind this movement is @Chasmin Moses — who dreamed this into being from her own classroom. What makes this program so powerful? ✨ Building a culture of abundance✨ Teaching girls about their brain and body✨ Integrating art as a pathway to self-understanding✨ Centering identity, voice, and belonging This is what happens when neuroscience, creativity, and community meet lived experience. Girls are not only learning — they are understanding themselves. They are building language for their emotions. They are seeing their brilliance reflected back to them. This is embodied empowerment. And it is growing. 🌿 Have questions, curiosities or want to support this organization, drop in the chat! Have another organization you want to spotlight, create your own post to celebrate people doing good stuff in the world!!
