The Hips Never Lie
Watch this Micah Parsons rep. The tackle short sets. No big kick. But he does it fast to sell the inside rush is open. Most rushers panic. They take the bait. They rush inside. Bad idea. His hips never open. He stays square the whole time. Micah sees it. So he doesn’t force the inside rush. He creates the rush. Jab step. Club the back shoulder pads. Pull him forward. Now the edge is real. Speed. Rip. Finish. That’s high-level rushing. Short setters usually give up speed. But good O-linemen will jump quick, Make it look like they’re kicking, Then stop after one step and clamp you inside. That’s why this matters. Hips never lie. If they open, take power or inside. If they stay square, keep rushing. Read the hips. 👇 When you get a short setter, what’s your go-to?

Good Morning..great video ...although I chose Power Rush (because cant have 2 choices lol) imo the Intial power move sets up the entire transition... When the OT short sets (square) - I teach explode/attack (feet & hands) (1st & 2nd steps are crucial), explode (1st) quick inside power jab step (2nd) -Get the OT to extend those arm (to get you undercontrol) as he does we shift gears to more speed ...attack outside snake arm (wrist, elbow, bicep keys) ...Club inside, Chop down / inside physically get him turned inside.... use speed to get to OT outside hip and throw yourself threw forcing OT to his inside ....do this you have set the edge ...now qb has to make decisions 1) do i stay and play OR 2) Do I try and shit & git ...

YES...this 👆👆👆👆 Wt to Load ratio ...feel it in your toes and instep as would say....
What stance and when to use it.
So I have a question. When do I know when to use my 3 point stance and my two point stance in a game?

6-Point Hips & Hands Drill (LSU Style)
Coach Ed Orgeron teaching one of my favorite D-Line drills! 👉 The 6-Point Hips & Hands Drill. Here’s how it works: 1️⃣ Start in a 6-point stance. Hands, knees, and toes on the ground. 2️⃣ On the “hut,” explode out, strike the bag, and fully lock out your hips while your partner holds your feet down. The goal? Train hip power and arm extension from the ground up. One violent, connected movement — feet, hips, hands. Remember, power doesn’t come from your hands… It comes from the ground. 👇 Drop your thoughts! Have you ever repped this drill before? — Coach Dheilly
