Unbound Gravel Logistics & General Chat Thread
@Marc Wildeman has created an amazing spreadsheet for those attending & supporting Unbound Gravel. This is a fantastic asset to share details on lodgings, available vehicles and the number of people that potentially can pass out food/bottles/high fives on the day :-) If you are attending Unbound have a look, add your details and lets all support each other for this epic ride! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DjvroKZSnejzK4hfBfRJimbSXBRfgJNsw06wXrnbyRQ/edit?usp=sharing Also, lets use this thread to put any questions around the event into.

@Blair Corey Sure can, any suggestions? I just picked Sun Eve assuming most people would be free at the end of the weekend. Is that 9pm for you?

Hi everyone! I have already introduced myself in the free general group. It seems I need to do it here again. Sorry to bother you if you already seen my post in the other group. Hi! I am Delphine from France. I am 43. Currently living between Luxembourg and France and will soon move to Switzerland. Riding bikes for 15 years. I am a pure climber, love racing in mountain events. I ride both road and Gravel. My favorite riders: Romain Bardet, Mads Pedersen, Ben Healy, Lachlam Morton among the men. Kasia Newiadoma and Pauline Ferrand-Prévot among women. Favorite race: TDF, Giro and Liège-Bastogne-Liège. My road bike: O2 Vam from Factor. Gravel: diverge sport Carbon from Specialized I am currently looking to upgrade and find a new gravel. Not easy for me since I am 154cm and it seems the bike infustry does not offer yet a lot of premium choices for small riders/women. If you have some ideas, let me know. I have been a Haute Route ambassador for 7 years but now I am looking for different challenges. I have a few races in mind for this year but one big challenge for me would be Gravel French championship. I am making my own training plans/bike fitting and I am happy I have found a real community of passionate cyclists.

Welcome to the group!!
Value for money in the cycling market ?
A question to you all and my response to my own question……when was the last time you paid for something that was purely to do with cycling - your bike or your kit that didn’t mean you had to have a blank credit card first or, extend your mortgage for another three years and actually thought WOW I really believe that was money well spent, worthwhile expenditure and think, ……..incredible value for money ?? This afternoon was/is possibly the very first time that I can honestly say that: yes, I have spent money well, on something worthwhile and incredible value for money within a cycling context. I had the pleasure of spending a couple of hours with Phil Burt and had an updated bike fit. I went with the absolute expectations of: this is wrong, that is wrong, you need to change this and of course, change that AND, if you were to buy this/these you’d be more comfortable, produce more power/watts and of course be faster. In less than 2 hours, I had spent ZERO (other than the cost of the bike fit session) but yet, the changes that have been made - I am hoping and I’m pretty confident will make fundamental differences in terms my cycling life. THREE changes were recommended by Phil after the traffic light system that was reporting my bike fit data (as was) were showing as amber. Having made two primary changes within a couple of minutes, the data had changed from amber to green…….. Once the weather improves, I will be out on my bike and I cannot wait to see the difference(s) the changes recommended actually make. Having had MANY bike fits and never really feeling as if I had been given correct advice and having changed (on numerous occasions): handlebar stem, width of handlebars, at least 2 different stories/suggestions around crack length, saddle height (up and down) backwards/forwards AND so many different saddles and ALWAYS reverting back to where I was PRE bike fit, I can honestly say that I won’t be doing the same this time as even in the couple of minutes of riding time, I could feel the improvements in both pedal stroke and sitting position.

Second that on the bike fit, I get fit at least annually and/or if I get a new bike as frame geometry changes necessitate adjustments

Great to have you here. This community is built for riders who believe their best chapter on the bike is still ahead. Whether you want to get fitter, faster, leaner, stronger or simply fall back in love with cycling, you’re in the right place. Before we get rolling, let’s get to know each other. Drop a quick intro under the "introduce yourself tab" in "communities" • Who are you • Where you’re riding from • Your cycling goals • And most importantly… a pic of your bike This is a community of support, accountability and shared passion. The more we show up, the more powerful this space becomes. Looking forward to meeting you all and helping you write the next chapter in your cycling story. Let’s get after it. You’re not done yet.
