Lowering LDL Cholesterol
Russ, Would doing your longer Pilates class help towards lowering cholesterol? I know that diet is important, too. I am a little over on my numbers, but my HDL level is good. I know this isn't cardio but as opposed to sitting would a longer Pilates session help with this? Thanks & hope you've been doing well.

Great question! It would help in terms of being a part of keeping active, maintaining lean muscle etc. But really should be combined with cardio when it comes to cholesterol management. Lots of movement throughout the day (non- exercise activity) Walking after meals. And of course managing diet as you said. Hope this helps! Happy to chat more

Out thing I'll add which I learned recently, 2-4 brazil nuts every few weeks can help massively with cholesterol

Here's this morning's link: May want a block for spine stretch! Otherwise shouldn't need anything. Enjoy. https://us02web.zoom.us/rec/share/fkL-gFSpLBJnE25Sj6UyqhcMz2uL0FZpTkuWcBBH5-85cnxV0Nhofl2L5wxNqEgi.GIPMgb6URUhRmKU6 Passcode: bji8r?i3 Have a great weekend! Russ

Intro
Hey there! I haven't introduced myself, but I joined a while back and have been slowly adding the beginner course workouts to my routine. I started looking into pilates last fall and been trying what seems like a million different teachers and types of pilates from classical to contemporary to fusions to see what feels best in my body and resonates with me. I've been a massage therapist for 27 years and its taken a toll on me physically (mostly elbows and wrists) but I limit my daily treatments and incorporate different modalities where I can. I am also 47 years old and perimenopausal and experience some diffuse joint pain, not debilitating by any means, but enough that I notice it. So I've been seeking out new forms of movement that don'tstress me but also help keep me strong and mobile, especially in my spine! So grateful to be here! Lesley

Here's the link. I think this is a tough one but lots of levels. As usual, work to a level that challenges you but you can maintain form and control. Rest if you need to, usually form starts to break down or other things start to feel it. Do less reps, or smaller range of motion if needed. May want a block for this one if you struggling with hips. Enjoy! https://us02web.zoom.us/rec/share/Rb-diAIbzplko6rcKeyU1-bq0GA7NsATj7Jwocb7ZTvEHlFRU-j1mLLv49X76dsb.Jt2QAxlzQV3Ma1Jk Passcode: EKQH3%S7
