Disk Mulcher vs. Drum Mulcher?
Drum mulchers seem way more popular. Not sure why? Disk mulchers look faster, but maybe don't mulch down as fine? They also seem cheaper, though I have seen some that are $20k ish What has been your experience between the two?
How many times to call a lead?
So I'm curious how many times and how frequently you folks will call your leads? I've got a handful of leads that I've called and texted 3 or 4 times with no reply. All of them were first called within hours of them filling out a contact form. Most of them I followed up with a call and text 2 or more times within the same week. At what point do you scrap the lead?

Research says call every lead 12 times ideal, 6 times minimum. Meaning actual real-world data shows that it's worth the effort because conversions keep happening long after most people give up. See attached file.

@Jacob Neffendorf Thanks for that. What is "Double Dial"
Intro and Help with $ Market Estimation (for mulching)
Questions about the attached video: 1. Jimmy Shrake 2. Thinking of starting a mulching biz. 3. Houston/The Woodlands, TX 4. Help with. The basics biz plan and assumptions for now 5. Previously owned $2.5 mil manufaturing business selling on line, so I know Entrepreneurship and online sales and marketing, but not this industry. I'm in the greater Houston, TX area, North Houston. (~10-12 million people in a 50 sq-mi radius) trying to work this math for my case. I went to Google adwords and found the following: 100-1,000 searches for - 5 related keywords (forestry mulching, land clearing, land clearing contractors, land clearing near me, land clearing services) so that could be counted as 2,500 at 500/ea x 5 10-100 searches for 30+ other related keywords 30 x 50/ea counting the same way =1,500 so 4,000 is the Total counting like this Am I doing this right to get a starting point? @Jacob Neffendorf, how are you determining the number of searches you use for this metric? 4,000 Total 400 if 10% to my www site (this seems high to me, for my area anyway. I'm sure there are 100+ people doing this here) 40 if 10% of those call or fill out www form 8 closed sales if I close 20% (he shoots for 20%, plenty of people do way better than that) Another way to look at this is, that's 2 closed per 1000 searches or 0.2% 8 closed x $5,000 avg ticket is $40/K mo gross, $16K/mo net (@ 40%) $480,000 /yr gross, $192,000 net (@ 40%) Is 40% gross margin reasonable? Conservative? or more on the optimistic side? I could get by with 1/3 of this estimate, be happy with 1/2, be very happy with all of it.

Keyword market search
I listened to the OWNR podcast "The Best Land Clearing Markets..." and were talking about the 2500/10 competitors to get an idea of the market in your area. I tried searching how to do this, but in order to get actual number (vs. REALLY rough estimate), and a specific location (vs.just the U.S or the entire state), I'm not finding much unless I run ads on Google and am not ready for that yet. Does anyone know how to get more detailed info on number of searches for "forestry mulching" and for my geographical location? Any info would be much appreciated! (great podcast by the way) @Jacob Neffendorf

@Kimberly Bailey Follow up. On Google, you dont need to run ads, but you do need an account setup to log into. This site was mentioned on the live call yesterday as being better in some way, that I dont remember, than Google adwords. mangools.com

@Austin Gray OK, I replied to it to bump it up and tagged you
Facebook Ads just launched!
I just launched my first real FB ad campaing. Prior to today I had only boosted posts before. The campaign is based on what I learned from watching the OWNROPS Facebook Flywheel video. Here's one of the 3 ads I'm running now: https://fb.me/adspreview/facebook/1Sv23uk6k80LcL3 Fill out the Instant Form if you have a second, you'll be helping me test the backend :-) Additional things I learned in the process of making these ads and getting the campaign going: - There are far too many ad formats on FB/IG, some with very different effects on your ad video - If you're only going to use one video resolution make it 1440x1800 as that will work with all of the FB/IG ad formats - Text placement in your video matters a lot. Some of the formats cover up lower and upper parts of your video and you don't want it to interfere with your video text. - I need a somewhat nicer microphone for recording voiceovers, my phone did not do a very nice job and I spent tons of time trying to make it sound better. - Test your sound out on a desktop but also on a phone, different speakers can have very different sound qualities - You can easily send your incoming leads into a Google Sheet, I find this very useful since I use Sheets as the basis for my customer tracking. - There is no built-in notification system for incoming leads from the Instant Forms! I kinda found this shocking. It's meant to plug into a CRM of some sort. I still need to sort out what I want to do about this. (Yes I know, zapier/jobber/copilot/etc) :)

I started and ran a 2.5 million a year manufacturing business that I sold. This model, this particular business, and the info you are providing is gold, literally gold. Execution is still required, accurate job quoting, customer service, quality of service performed, tracking finances to understand costs, etc. but the blueprint is plug-and-play. Success is guaranteed if you execute on the fundamentals. That's a pretty bold statement, but that's what I see. 🤠
