The first project I made that I am proud of.
About 20 years ago when I first started working with wood I built this game table complete with game board, table, chairs, picture frames and lighted shelf.

The First Thing I Built That Made Me Proud
Actually maybe this wasn't the first thing I was proud of, but it was certainly the one that made me most proud in terms of how challenging it was. I built a set of bar stools from hickory and elm. It was an interesting project, trying steam bending wood (for the backs and seats) for my first time. Steam bending required finding a local sawmill that had air (not kiln) dried wood. And I used hickory for strength of the structural elements. It was the most challenging woodworking project I've done to date, because all the pieces were curved or joined at an unusual angle, and the folding joints need to be really strong! How are Your Christmas Projects Coming?
I finally got my Christmas projects video up and running. These are 5 projects, some of which are rather unique, which I think will sell. If you're still working on stuff for the local Christmastime crafts fairs, this video might be just what you've been looking for. But then, if you're just looking for some Christmas woodworking projects for home, family and gifts, it will work too. I'm giving some of these as gifts.
