Creature comforts incoming
I’m upgrading the garage lighting. Previously I bought shop lights and put them up on the walls. I didn’t realize how much heat these things put out. I didn’t mind it in the winter but now I’m cooking. To further remedy that situation I’m adding a Mr. cool 18,000 BTU mini split.

New digs for the miter saw
Now that I finished the pantry, I started rearranging the shop. Here is the first new home. It’s not finished. In fact, I have a problem with the width of the miter saw table top where the rotation hits the edge so I’ll need to figure that out.

Took a break from woodworking to solve a year long annoyance. Back in 2021 I had a vehicle charger installed in my garage. I went with the 6 foot cable because the 24 foot cable was more expensive. 😅 Skip ahead to 2025 when I started woodworking in the garage and picture me moving the piano back-and-forth every time we needed to charge a vehicle Well, no more. I had a sub panel installed in the garage and then went to town on a new charger installed outside.

Happy to have found this
Good morning. Name is Vick and I've been looking for a community for some time. Happy to be here. My grandfather was a construction worker and I used to help him out when I was a kid. That's right: child labor! 🤣 I don't think anyone else in the family has taken up woodworking so I am the first. My father said to me "Learn to do one thing extremely well. For everything else you can pay." Well, I got tired of paying for shoddy work. Bought a new house 13 years ago and have been learning and modding ever since.

@Tracy Novak Hi Tracy. I'm in between projects at the moment. I finished the pantry project (before/after attached). Now doing a few odd ends. As for what I've learned... I need a minute to think about it. I'm a visual learner so here's the full journey for the pantry if you're interested. I think I also posted it under projects https://photos.app.goo.gl/vvQNCoemDqKZgSSU7 Long story short: mold, duct, drama 🤣
Corn Hole Boards
Heres some tournament spec cornhole boards I made. Sealed the frame with truck bed liner and put 6 coats of paint and 3 coats of laquor on the tops to smooth them out.
