Solving the Miter Joint Problem
I hear woodworkers, especially novice woodworkers, lamenting their difficulty in producing good miter joints. Of course, by "good" I'm referring to miter joints that close up properly on all four corners. Well, there's an answer, and it's a simple jig that you use with a plane. Make it right and its guaranteed to make all of those joints close up perfectly, every time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUbmKZu0KWM

I tell beginners to not cut it at exactly 45 but try something like 44.8. If the gap is on the inside it's not as important. Jigs work the best but if you are away from the shop cut it a little off. Just a touch.

For me, I have developed hand tremors. So now I'm having to use clamps and things way more than I ever have. The most difficult and aggravating thing is screws. Sometimes it can be so hard to get the bit onto the head of the screw. Imagine that simple task while your hand is bouncing around. Side note, even before that I've always had trouble with dovetails. Something always seems to not line up.
WD-40 tip
Ya know those 2 in 1 tops on WD-40 cans that have a flip up straw? Well I didn't know that you can pop those tops off and put them on regular WD-40 cans. You probably knew but I didn't.

Rattle can shaker
Not thrilled by anything I've seen on Amazon. Any thoughts on making an inexpensive rattle can shaker? Maybe a jig to attach to an oscillating spindle sander? It would have to be perfectly centered, I imagine.

You can zip tie it to a long recip saw blade and shake it in the recip saw. Some make special holders for the recip saw to hold the can.
What do You Do with Your Scrap?
Scrap is always an issue for woodworkers. Even though how we define scrap might vary considerably. Some of us will call any offcuts scrap, while others will only call it scrap if we can't use it for anything else. In this video, I share how to make use of some of the smallest offcuts, turning it into beautiful projects that make great gifts.

My problem is I want to keep everything. I mean everything. It might be useful someday. But so far those someday's are not arriving very fast or often. And when they do I either forget I have it or can't find it in the mess.
