Question Regarding Archetypes

When we talked about the 4 different houses this past weekend, it was my understanding that within each of those houses we should have a vision and it is the magician side of things where we find the order, the procedural side of things to follow in order to accomplish those visions within each house. Do I have that somewhat correct? And do we need to select values within each house in order to make decisions off of in order to complete those visions? And do we need to have an overarching vision that all of those fall underneath?
