Union Error

Hey everybody! I'm new to Plasticity and am running into a union issue and wanted to see if anybody had some advice. I've been trying to create the extrusion in yellow and join it to the main body and I'm getting the red error but with no information beyond that. I've tried extruding a variety of ways from the main body to create this shape and none of them will union to the main body.
