Scifi Helmet Tutorial further thoughts

Has anyone worked this tutorial and corrected the chin? I've run into similar issues when cutting chins out of helmets and I'm wondering if there's a better method.

Also, I'm so glad I paid for Studio, I'd be giving up by now if I couldn't use xnurbs. I'm so confused how I can follow along and not achieve the same results. Anyone else struggle through this tutorial? Is it brighter on the other side lol?
