Loft not working...

I'm working through the "Top Piece" vid of the Glue Pistol tutorial. At about 31:20 (working on the frame for the base) -

I've created the continuity extrusion, and moved the continuity extrusion curve to the BC folder. I select the two curves and loft them. When I then select the continuity extrusion edge, the loft fails at G1. (It works at G2, but G2 doesn't make for a smooth seam when mirrored).

Does anyone know why the loft is failing? Any and all help appreciated, thanks!

(Plasticity file "gp_12.plasticity" attached). Using version 1.3.0
