Importing STL files

Often times I want to 3D print an STL file, but before doing to I would like to modify it in some way (ie add something to it, cut parts of it away, makes holes in it etc)

I noticed I can't import an STL into a plasticity file, however i can drag and drop an stl file into the plasticity window and it will load the 3d geometry. This geometry is really only a reference though as I can't directly edit it, nor will it export with anything that I create in plasticity.

Could I request better support for STL files in future versions?
