My name is Brian and I am in my mid 50s and have battled my weight all of my adult life. I WAS just a couple of pounds over 300 and stand 5'11" on good days. Parents both had heart disease, high cholesterol and diabetes. Before starting GLP, I also found out I am fighting a fatty liver. I started Tirzepatide (lowest dose) 2 months ago and I've been on TRT for a couple of year. I also started walking a few miles in the mornings, per doctor's recommendation. I go to the gym but mainly use an Arm Trainer (resistance device) at home 3-4 times a week - it's pretty effective. Today, I am down to 278 and plan to keep improving. But it's a long, hard journey!
I had shoulder (rotator cuff) surgery about 3 years ago. And the other shoulder probably needs it today too. But since beginning my GLP, my inflammation has almost disappeared altogether. And I can honestly say that even if there were no weight loss benefits to Tirzepatide, I would continue to use it for the decrease of inflammation! Other than the price, so far, I have not found a downside to this wonder drug. And I hope I never do.
I mention all that to say that I concur with Lane about the Triple Reset principal: GLP, TRT, Weights/Resistance Training. I still have a long way to go! But I am making progress!
I end with something I have always told my kids: You cannot wish for strong character AND an easy life! Because the price for one is always the other!
