Sometimes (in fact, often) we’re so close to the problem,
we’ve got our shoulder against it.
Our head pressed to it.
Our full weight behind it.
We’re pushing as hard as we can,
doing everything we know how to do,
when the solution is right there....
if only we stepped back.
The truth is, we don’t need to push harder.
We need to see clearer.
All too often, we’re focused on the problem itself
rather than searching for the solution.
And it might sound like wordplay,
but it’s not: it’s perspective.
The solution nearly always exists.
It’s usually simpler than we think.
And there’s often someone who’s already solved it...
...someone we could learn from,
if we weren’t so caught up in the struggle.
Sometimes, the smartest move
isn’t to push harder,
but to step back.
Take a breath.
Look again.
Because when you change your angle,
you’ll finally see the signs that have been there all along.
...and sometimes 'you' are the problem,
and its you that needs to change:
....but thats another lesson for another day
