The power of networking.
We’ve all heard the line.
Your network equals your net worth.
It’s become such a cliché that people roll their eyes at it now.
Some people say they hate networking.
It’s too early.
It’s too late.
It’s in the middle of the day.
It gets in the way of work.
In reality, most people don’t hate networking.
They hate discomfort. of having to talk to strangers
They don’t like walking into a room where they don’t know anyone.
They don’t like small talk.
They don’t like feeling exposed.
But here’s the truth.
If I had to put my finger on the single biggest lead generator in my entire career, it wouldn’t be ads, funnels, or clever campaigns.
It would be networking.
Events.
Conferences.
Rooms full of people.
Listening.
Talking.
Getting to know people properly.
Every major opportunity I’ve ever had started with a conversation.
Not a pitch.
Not a post.
A conversation.
I’d go as far as saying this.
If you’re not networking, your business isn’t working.
...or growing as effectively as it could be
You don’t build trust through screens alone.
You build it through presence.
Which is why I was pleased to speak recently at PBN, hosted by , who is building a strong property and business community in the Peterborough area.
Rooms like that matter.
Not because of name badges or coffee.
But because momentum is created when people meet.
If networking makes you uncomfortable, that’s not a reason to avoid it.
It’s probably the reason you need it most.
