...Because sometimes the unexpected happens.
...and sometimes life can change in a split second.
The attached photo popped up in my iPhone timeline this week.
It’s from about 10 years ago.
I twisted in my car reaching for something on the back seat:
That was it....
Ruptured a disc.
C7.
Within 24 hours:
→ No feeling in my arm
→ Extreme nerve pain
→ My arm rapidly becoming paralysed
One awkward movement.
We walk around assuming stability.
Business is ticking.
Cash is flowing.
Team is “fine”.
Family is provided for.
Until it isn’t.
We plan for growth.
We plan for profit.
We rarely plan for the cut.
What happens to your business if you are not there tomorrow?
Not on holiday.
Not on a strategy day.
Gone from operations.
What happens to your income if you lose capability?
Not dead:
Disabled.
Still here.
Still responsible.
Would your family be secure?
Or exposed?
Would your team cope?
Or collapse?
Would your clients stay?
Or drift?
You do not need to live in fear.
But living ill prepared is not bravery.
It is avoidance.
I have friends whose lives changed overnight:
Accidents.
Operations.
One phone call.
Everything different.
If you disappeared from your business for 90 days,
What breaks first?
That answer tells you exactly where you are fragile.
Cutthroat mentoring is not about being ruthless with people.
It is about being ruthless with risk.
Success is about systems and great people.
Even if you can rely on yourself,
You should never only have yourself to rely on.
