Tuesday and Friday Live Premium Coaching Calls
David Stem has said, “Character should never be built using rigid formulaic structures. Instead, their structural arc must emerge entirely from an internal psychological battle that drives global, multi-billion-dollar commercial appeal. These calls are the guerrilla warfare of screenwriting. People are respectful and polite, but no one ever improved their script by getting their mom or friends who don’t understand the craft to read their pages. The magic happens in the high-stakes and synergistic dynamics of a group of writers working on a story with screenwriting veteran David Stem steering the chaos. Reach out to me, Anna Fermin, or David Stem directly if you need support or have any questions in bringing your pages to a premium call. Here’s the link to where you put up your casting and your pages. Here’s the link for the Tuesday July 7th Premium Coach Call.   Here’s the link for the Friday, July 10th Premium Coach Call.

LET'S TALK BUSINESS: PITCHING & LOGLINES
Okay, Forgers, you voted, and it was a tie between PITCHING and LOGLINES. So we are going to work on BOTH! Today's talk will be organic. We'll go around the "room" and you'll get to bring to the group whatever you want to work on: your pitch or your logline. Just a reminder, (although it isn't warranted with this group) this is a judgement free community. We are here to support, encourage, and–most importantly–learn how to level up our skills in all aspects of screenwriting. JOIN US TODAY, WEDNESDAY JULY 1, 10AM PST. Wondering how to transition from an amateur to a professional? David Stem would say, "You must stop saying 'I want to be a writer.'" and actively write every single day. Show up with pages and risk everything; that’s how one gets good, not by sitting in isolation. Join Premium and learn about creating a character whose internal wound causes them to exert control in every scene; no matter the moment, they are always themselves. That’s a strong character, not one that is moved by scenes but one that moves the scenes themselves. Reach out to me, Anna Fermin, or David Stem directly if you need support or have any questions in bringing your pages to a Premium call. 🔥 Script Request Challenge up in the Classroom 🔥
Today’s LET’S TALK BUSINESS: Script Request Sprint with Matthew Lutz was incredible. We had a record number of Forgers show up live — around 30 attendees — and the energy was exactly what this community is built for: serious writers learning how to move their work forward in the real world. Matt walked us through a practical, repeatable system for getting producers to actually request your script — not by waiting around, not by hoping someone discovers you, but by building a targeted outreach process you can actually execute. This was not theory. This was: ✅ How to build a producer target list ✅ How to find the right people for your specific project ✅ How to write and send smart query emails ✅ How to track outreach and follow-ups ✅ How to think like a writer who is also building professional momentum ✅ How to turn “I just need someone to read my script” into an actual plan The recording is now available in the Classroom for all Premium and VIP members, and also for purchase. You can find it here: Writer's Forge Classroom. It's also be available for purchase separately for anyone who wants access. Matt mentioned several additional resources during the call, and I’ll be adding those to the Classroom as I receive them from him. Huge thank you to Anna Fremin for coordinating with Matt and helping make this happen. And a massive thank you to Matthew Lutz for giving so generously of his time, experience, and hard-earned knowledge. We were lucky to have him. Also, for those of you in Los Angeles who are looking to meet other screenwriters and attend live events, check out Matt’s group, Hollywood Speakeasy. If you’re want access to this replay and future sessions like it, you can upgrade here: Writer's Forge Premium or VIP Membership. This was one of those sessions that reminds me exactly why The Writer’s Forge exists.

LET'S TALK BUSINESS: SCRIPT REQUEST SPRINT w/ MATTHEW LUTZ
HEY FORGERS! This week's Business Talk is going to be 🔥FIRE!🔥. Special guest @Matthew Lutz will be sharing a method he developed called SCRIPT REQUEST SPRINT: 50 script requests in 30 days. DO NOT MISS THIS!!! "This isn't a craft course and nobody's giving notes on your second act. This is marketing: targeted, repeatable, and built to get producers requesting your pages." JOIN US on WED, JUNE 24, 10am PST. Link to Zoom call: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/86850227314?pwd=Z9bwsCa7KTM0UTWYRaL5FOE8MzQRxa.1 Here's what to expect... SCRIPT REQUEST SPRINT: 50 script requests in 30 days. You wrote the script. It's good. It's also collecting dust on your computer, unread. The hard part was never the writing. It's getting the right people to ask for it. This is a 30-day system for making that happen at volume. Not one lucky break. A machine you can run again and again. This isn't a craft course and nobody's giving notes on your second act. This is marketing: targeted, repeatable, and built to get producers requesting your pages. You'll learn how to build: 1. A target list worth pitching — real producer emails, plus a LinkedIn pipeline of producers 2. Assets that get opened — a query letter that lands, a profile that reads like a working writer, swipe files, and a tracking tool so you don't lose track of all of your script requests and interested readers 3. A daily outreach engine — 50 sends a day, scheduled, tracked, and followed up with 4. The discipline to run it — until the requests come in, and then until one of them turns into a deal We all want to get read. But smoking "hopium" alone won't cut it. This is how you build a tactical and practical system that gets you read... on repeat. This system is about volume. It's not glamorous. But it works. ABOUT MATTHEW LUTZ • Matthew Lutz is a produced screenwriter who works on assignment • The project he's going to share with you in this case study ranked in the top 1% of Coverfly's Red List (out of 50,000+ projects)
