Tailgate lock electrics

Howdy gang. Finally got around to rebuilding my franken-tailgate this weekend from various donors. Truck came with a gutted gate so I wasn't sure how this would go. Got the regulator, new motor, cable, wiring and new glass channels in. To my surprise the dash control works and the regulator goes up and down. I believe the last thing I need to do before the glass goes in is get the latch/lock electric mechanism running. It has power and will go up, but the down is working. I cleaned it, which got the up side going, but down won't connect. Thinking I need a new white plastic connector piece. Anyone know how to get the old one out? I have pried with a screwdriver, pulled with pliers and about made my fingers bleed. Any help appreciated.

Also, strong work on putting this together Justin. Been following your youtube a while and it inspires me to work on my rig.
