My rig
Thanks for letting me join the group. My rig is a 89 suburban its 6.0/4L60E swapped. 7 inch ord lift on 37's. Its my daily driver/camping/bugout/overlanding rig. Right now its down waiting on warmer weather to get the fresh trans in it. So im going to take the opportunity while its "put up for the winter" lol, to collect up some parts an materials to get the rockers cut out an 2x6 steel put in place, to strengthen the body an add some protection.

You got that thing set up nice!
Brakes
Let's talk about brakes. Specifically 14b disc brake conversions. I know about ruff stuff and lug Nutt 4x4, but the newer chevy 14b has 2 piston calipers. Anyone converted to them yet? Also, anyone running bigger front brakes?

@Justin Biddle haven't even got them yet lol. It's gonna be a lil while before I get them on. I've got a lot of work to do on replacing rusted sheet metal before I start putting mechanical stuff together. I bought them on cyber Monday. The fronts you have to have your hub turned on a lathe to remove about a ¼in of the material. The rotors then go on the outside of hub vs inside.

@James Walker no parking brakes, this will go in mud a lot. Drum brakes and mud don't work well lol. I am going to install a line locks for locking off brakes during winch usage. Don't think I would trust as a parking brake for long time though. I'm an auto so e brakes aren't a necessity.
Happy Friday everyone.
What are you all working in this weekend. Any progress going to be happening on the squares. I’m finally starting my front 57” Spring swap on this beast. And swapping to a 91 style front because I destroyed my last core support.
Happy Friday everyone.

Gonna be doing some work on the driver's rocker panel and the floor board!

Fortunately it's mainly in the rocker, inner and outer, a little bit of rot on floor by kick panel too. I'm gonna fix and strengthen the weak floor where seat mounts too! Then it' will be on to the rear cargo area floor and tailgate posts!
57” Front Spring Swap part 3
Stayed up late last night and finished the driver-side bracket mock-up — and I’m seriously loving how it turned out. Yeah, it’s a little bulky, but it has to be. This bracket drops the shackle under the frame, ties into the body mount, and adds strength where these K5 frames really need it. We’re running a factory-length rear style HD shackle up front (around 4–4.5”), hoping the shorter design keeps side-to-side deflection down and helps stability. The 3-inch leaf springs might be soft, but we’ll know more once it’s on its own weight. If needed, I’ll add a leaf. Still gotta measure pinion shim angle once everything is sitting right. Bracket #1 is done — onto the passenger side next. What do you guys think of this setup so far?

Looks good! Will it be a fully bolt on or welding it on? Are the f150 springs stock height or lifted (when used on the f150 platform)
