Detoxing so I can feel the Divine
I’m noticing how my nervous system learned to chase quick dopamine hits, and as I’ve stepped back from screens, casual eating out, and even the grind of constant work, I can finally feel the quiet underneath the urge to be stimulated.
It’s uncomfortable at first, because the mind wants the ping and the body wants the rush, but breathing through the craving shows me it’s mostly fear wearing a shiny costume.
What I’m discovering is that sacrifice isn’t deprivation, it’s devotion, and the more I let go of cheap highs, the more I sense a deeper, steady presence that was always here.
Silence stops feeling like emptiness and starts feeling like medicine, and the space I was trying to fill becomes a doorway into something sacred.
I’m choosing slower meals at home, simpler days, and work that is honest rather than frantic, and my attention feels stronger, warmer, and less needy.
I did a salt, lemon, and water detox and I was in the bathroom for 2 hours, my guts were really cleansed. Then I fasted for 36 hours.
If you’ve tried a dopamine detox or changed your habits to calm your nervous system, what shifts did you notice when the noise dropped?
Where did it get hard, and what helped you stay with it when the cravings came back?
I’d love to hear your experiences, your stumbling points, and the small practices that opened more
presence for you.
